Those rejoicing over the news that Mercedes-Benz is building a mental
612 horsepower V-12-power G-Wagen better hold those horses. We've just
received official confirmation from our sources inside Mercedes-Benz
that when the 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class hits our shores later this
year, the G65 AMG will be absent from the lineup. The G65 AMG is about
as far away from the original G-Wagen as you can get. Rather than the
original's small diesel four-pot, the 2013 G65 AMG borrows a twin-turbo
6.0-liter V-12 from Mercedes' S65 AMG flagship. In the G65, the engine
produces a whopping 738 lb-ft of torque in addition to the
aforementioned 612 hp. That power is routed to all four-wheels through
a five-speed automatic. While it may seem somewhat disappointing that
we're not getting the G65 AMG in the U.S., if it were to come to our
shores it'd likely cost much more than what American buyers are willing
to pay. 506,142 - before taxes. Though the G65 AMG won't be making an
appearance in the U.S., the American G-Class lineup won't be AMG-less.
We're still slated to receive its 'little' brother, the 2013 G63 AMG.
Despite the name, the G63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8
that produces a slightly more reasonably 544-hp and 560 lb-ft of
torque. 130,000 when it hits our shores this year.

What have been common problems in the GLC300 series? I have run flats
on my 2018 GLC and I have never experienced such a harsh ride in my
life! Potholes make the car go sideways! RFT with standard steel
suspension. I like how it drives most of the time but wish the car
handled better. Thanks Charming for the suggestion. I think dynamic
select only alters suspension if you have air suspension. I will give
it regardless though. Well, they may be nuissances but I have better
things to do with my time than to be at the dealer and its not a low
end vehicle. My husband drives a 2004 Camry (and hes proud of it) and
he finds it funny that his car has only been in the shop for oil
changes in the past 3 years. Further, its going to feel more than just
a nuisance once my 4 year warranty is up and Ill be paying for my
monthly visits.

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class is close to a debut, possibly
as soon as the Detroit Auto Show in January, and a new spy video
reveals the latest state of the G63's development. This one features a
digital instrument panel. A mule in previous spy shots (gallery below)
provided a better view of the cabin, but that model had analog
instruments. It's not clear at this point whether the earlier model is
simply early in development or whether Mercedes intends to offer the
digital panel as an option. In addition, the interior features a large
display on the center stack. Below it, there's metallic trim
surrounding stylish vents and an array of physical controls. This video
shows two test mules under development. One of them appears to be in a
more finished state. Mercedes' mesh over the front end can't hide the
shiny vertical slats in the company's Panamericana grille. Horizontal
dividers break up the corner intakes in the lower fascia, and there's
mesh in the center section. The headlights are under heavy concealment,
but the engineers expose the LEDs in the center. The other model in
this clip has standard halogen lights. In profile, the G63 continues to
look tough. It features muscular fenders, an upright stance, and
side-exit exhausts. Around back, there's a big rear window and fairly
tiny rectangular taillights. Mercedes recently announced that it would
discontinue the G500 4脳4虏 at the end of October. This suggests the
company is winding down production of the current generation in
preparation for the new model. The next G-Class reportedly rides on a
new platform that helps it cut a significant amount of weight.
Mercedes-AMG's 4.0-liter biturbo V8 would power the new G63, and the
6.0-liter biturbo V12 would continue to motivate the G65.
