(FORMERLY MB FINDER)
As shown at The Mercedes Experience in Dallas, May 1999, the Technical Information department is pleased to announce the availability of Star
Finder 1.0 on CD-ROM. In its new and expanded format, Star Finder 1.0 replaces the former electrical component locator known as MB Finder.
Under separate cover, Mercedes-Benz Center Service Managers will automatically receive
ONE Star Finder 1.0 CD-ROM.
The Star Finder CD will run on any Windows based typical PC, however we recommend the following minimum specifications:
133 MHz Pentium processor or faster
Windows 95/98/NT 4.0
16 MB RAM or better
Minimum 200 MB free space on the hard drive (for windows installation option)
4X CD ROM drive
16 or 24 bit color display at 800 X 600 pixels
Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator(R) 4.0 (needed for Java installation option only)
Color or B/W printer (needed for printing only)

Installation notes:
1. Should you have installed the previous component locator - MB Finder, on your PC, we recommend deleting the MB Finder directory from
the hard drive in order to free up drive space.
2. After inserting Star Finder CD in the PC's CD ROM drive, the program initiates an auto install feature with three options:
- Install Windows Version (requires approx. 200 MB of free space on the hard drive)
- Install Java Version (using browser application - requires approx. 35 MB hard drive free space)
- Run Program (directly from CD ROM)
Select the option which best suit your needs and follow on-screen instructions to complete installation.
