[NEW] designates changes to this revision SUBJECT Instrument Panel Noise MODEL [NEW] R50 (Cooper) up to 07/04 [NEW] R53 (Cooper S) up to 07/04 [NEW] For vehicles produced after 7/04, please refer to SI M51 04 06.6 SITUATION A distinct creaking noise is heard from the center of the instrument panel when driving on a rough road. The noise can be reduced or stopped by pressing lightly on the center area of the instrument panel. 2002-2006 Mini Cooper (R50) L4-1.6L (W10) Page 249 CAUSE Motion between the central guide pin (1) on the upper instrument panel and the guide hole on the body (2) can cause a creaking noise.
