Date 02-04-2010

Validity Sprinter 906.** Auxiliary air heater (SA code H11)

Reason for change

Reason for block

Complaint:

The auxiliary air heater shuts down after operating for a short time although the vehicle interior is not yet warm.

Cause:

1st possible cause:

The warm air from the outlet of the air duct under the driver seat to the passenger compartment is drawn back in by the intake of the auxiliary air

heater. This warm air suggests to the temperature sensor of the auxiliary air heater that the vehicle interior is already warm. Therefore, the auxiliary

air heater shuts down.

2nd possible cause:

Wrong version of air duct for auxiliary air heater (part number A 906 830 10 23, attachment 2) installed.

Remedy:

Re. possible cause 1:

Close off the warm air outlet under the driver seat (H00) (attachment 1). Note: The two bars in the air outlet under the driver seat must be removed.
