Reason for block
Complaint:
The LEDs in the relevant button can be activated but the seat heater remains inoperative.
The complaint occurs primarily at low temperatures and while driving with few or no consumers activated.
Cause:
The seat heater is shut down due to an overvoltage detected at the rear SAM.
Remedy:
Using SDS version 01/10 or later, flash with current rear SAM software and perform SCN coding.

Update Front SAM Parameters
This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the
specified values of the backup battery in the front SAM may be set too low. This may lead to fault messages in the instrument cluster. Dealers will
update the front SAM parameters at the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 16,616 vehicles are affected.

Note:
^ Use Xentry 01-02/2010 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in Xentry.
^ Battery charger not required.
1. Connect Star Diagnosis to vehicle.
2. Update backup battery coding: Control unit view/Driver-side SAM - Front signal acquisition and actuation module
(N10/1)/Adaptations/Configuration/SCN/SCN coding.
3. Follow on-screen instructions.
