Remedy:
For noises coming from area of backrest:
1. Grease wire frame in area of side attachments (see picture DSCN6106 and 6108) with special lubricant
Use damage code 91A41 36/91N41 36.
2. On vehicles with manual lumbar support adjustment, the lumbar support frame can rub against the wire frame due to component movement (see
picture DSCN6117). Eliminate sliding movement with cable ties (see picture DSCN6122 and DSCN6123)
Use damage code 91A41 36/91N41 36.
For noises coming from area of seat adjuster:
1. Check: Check whether the noise only occurs in the lower third of the height adjustment travel and perform a visual inspection of the current
condition (constriction between attachment profile of seat cushion cover and ring gear of crash lock (see picture DSCN6125)
Remedy:
- Adjust height upwards to approx. 40mm from the lowermost position.
- Lower driver seat backrest to the rear.
- Apply a leveraging tool (e.g. large flat tip screwdriver) to the rear on the tunnel side (see picture DSCN6126 and DSCN6127) between the ring
gear and cushion.
- Press the lever towards the inside gently, so that the attachment profile of the seat cover is bent approx. 4mm towards the cushion center.
Important:
Be careful not to cause damage due to the lever slipping or by applying excessive force!
- Carry out procedure for all 3 areas marked (see picture DSCN6128).
- Check clearance at lowermost position (see picture DSCN6129).
2. Adjust seat height all the way up and grease the crash lock on the tunnel side with lubricant.(see picture DSCN6130)
Use damage code 91A27 36/91N27 36.
3. Adjust seat fore/aft adjustment to the rear, lift the spring for inclination adjustment slightly with a screwdriver and grease with lubricant. (see
picture DSCN6132 and DSCN6133)
Use damage code 91A27 36/91N27 36.
