Air Conditioning Doesn't Cool

SITUATION
The customer states that the air conditioning doesn't cool. The Snowflake button LED lights up.
CAUSE
One possible cause may be a faulty evaporator temperature sensor.
PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer complaint.
2. Perform short test on vehicle and complete any test plans related to heating and air conditioning faults.
3. If the test plan does not yield a valid result, enter into BC1 (Body Control Module) control module functions and observe the evaporator
sensor reading from "Diagnosis Requests".
4. If the reading is -30锟斤拷C (normal compressor cutout threshold is 1锟斤拷C to 3锟斤拷C), this indicates a faulty sensor or high resistance in the wiring
between the BC1 and the evaporator temperature sensor.
5. Check the wiring at the BC1 for the complete evaporator temperature sensor circuit. Total circuit resistance with a good sensor should read 5
k-ohms +/- 250 ohms.
6. If reading is not within specification, measure resistance across sensor terminals.
7. If resistance across terminals is out of specification, then replace the sensor.
8. Check resistance of each wire from sensor to BC1 and repair as necessary.
9. If the sensor needs to be replaced, send the defective sensor to BMW Technical Service at:
