2010 Mercedes Benz Truck Sprinter 3500 Cab (906.153) V6-3.0L DSL Turbo (642.898) Technical Service Bulletin # VB-54_65-07 Date: 100210

Parktronic(R) System - Parktronic(R) Sensor Replacement Info.

Date: February 10, 2010

Order No.: V-B-54.65/07

Group: 54

SUBJECT:

MY-All, Model 906 with Code EZ8 Parktronic System (PTS)

Parktronic Sensor Replacement

An increasing number of Parktronic system sensors that exhibit external damage are being unjustifiably replaced under warranty or goodwill claims

(DSA). The sensors exhibit signs of external damage on the impact absorber or painted part of the sensor, which is indicative of stone chipping,

parking dents, or other damage from the road.

If a fault code is filed in the PTS control unit (N62) for damage to the sensor, then the sensor defect is clearly

caused by external damage and cannot be claimed under warranty.

Only replace those sensors that have a fault filed for them in the fault memory. A control unit log or quick test is necessary before replacing any

sensor that does not exhibit the marks of external damage.

Parts returned to the QEC for warranty, such as the Parktronic control unit, Parktronic sensors, or Parktronic warning indicator must have the

following attached:
