SUBJECT: Model 204.9, Model Year 2010
Apply Cavity Protection in Rear Wheel Arch Support Seam
This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG) the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the support
seam in the right rear wheel arch may not meet specifications. Dealers will apply cavity protection to the support seam in the right rear wheel arch, at
the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 92 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
1. Remove right rear access panel (A, Figure 1) located in right side of cargo compartment.
2. Insert cavity wax attachment (A, Figure 2), as shown, into wheel arch as far as possible.

3. Seal side wheel arch (in interior) along support seam (arrows, Figure 3), as far as possible in the direction of travel, using cavity wax attachment
(A, Figure 2).

using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to
