PROCEDURE
Do not replace parts for the situation described in this Service Information bulletin.
1. Remove the controller from the center console (electrical connection still connected), and retest the operation of all the buttons.
2. If the buttons work properly when the controller is removed, reinstall the controller in the center console. Ensure that the controller is fitted
properly into the center console, without any tension. Retest the button operation. If the buttons still do not work properly, proceed to procedure
steps 3 and 4.
3. Perform diagnosis using ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application). Complete any test plans related to iDrive controller faults, if stored.
4. If no faults are stored, perform and follow the recommendations in the "CON: Control button and additional buttons" test plan. The test plan can
be found under the following path: "Function structure/Body/Operation/Controller/Control knob and additional buttons".
