Complaint:



Gear range cannot be engaged.



Automatic transmission has no power flow at selector lever position D or R.



Cause:



a) Shift cable not engaged at transmission termination point.

b) Shift cable incorrectly adjusted.



Remedy:



a) Engage shift cable at transmission termination point. Check shift operation and adjust.



b) Adjust shift cable.



^ Shift mechanism and transmission in position D



^ Detach selector lever cover



^ Push sliding piece down; when it springs back the shift cable is adjusted (see Figures 1 and 2)



^ Check shift operation



Note:



Parts replacement is not necessary.
