Brake Pads
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.

TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.

Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.

The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
WARNING: Brake pads must be renewed in axle sets only, otherwise braking efficiency may be impaired.



CAUTION: Brake fluid will damage paint finished surfaces. If spilled, immediately remove the fluid and clean the
area with water.

NOTE: 
The brake pad wear warning indicator sensor must be replaced each time the brake pads are serviced.
NOTE:

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety
stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Remove the front road wheels.

Lever the anti­rattle spring in the center of the spring until either side is released. 
WARNING: If the brake caliper piston seal is damaged a new brake caliper must be installed.
CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.

Repeat the above procedure on the opposite side.
Installation
WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials can be harmful if
inhaled.
CAUTION: As the piston is pushed back into the caliper housing, the  brake fluid level in the reservoir will rise. Do
not allow the reservoir to overflow.


NOTE: 
Make sure that all the component mating faces are clean.
1 Press the piston into the caliper housing.

Apply grease C2C­33568 to the areas indicated.   Torque to: 58 Nm

Secure the bottom arm of the anti­rattle spring under the bottom anchor bracket of the caliper.
Compress the upper spring arm into the correct position, under the upper anchor bracket, whilst retaining the
logo plate.
Using the screw­driver, tap the central locating tag into the locked position.

CAUTION: Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.
CAUTION: Make sure that excessive force is not used. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the
vehicle.
CAUTION: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted and is correctly located.
Pull downwards at the position shown.
Repeat the above procedure on the opposite side.
2 Install the front road wheels.

3 Depress the brake pedal several times, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top­up with brake fluid if
necessary.
