2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Performance Upgrade Package Unavailable To Order

Text
The Performance Upgrade Package offered for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is no longer available to order.
The Performance Upgrade Package for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is tagged with RPO code PDM, and was offered as an LPO-level option, which means it was delivered to and installed by the dealer, rather than installed at the factory when the vehicle was first produced.
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Performance Upgrade Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
Both items listed above are LPO-level items as well.
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Performance Upgrade Package was offered as an optional extra on GMC Sierra 1500 SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. The package required the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which, in standard spec, is rated at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm.
It should also be noted that the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Performance Upgrade Package is part of the Off-Road Performance Package (RPO code PCJ) offered as an optional extra for the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. As a result, the Off-Road Performance Package is also unavailable to order.
The unavailability of the Performance Upgrade Package extends beyond the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The package is also unavailable for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban, as GM Authority covered previously.
Looking ahead, the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will be replaced with the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. Orders for the new 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited are now open.
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited will serve as a “stop-gap” model to bridge the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 with the fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra. As such, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited offers the same trim levels, exterior colors, and interior colors as the 2021 model year, ushering in the 2022 model year prior to the arrival of the fully refreshed pickup.
