Crazy BMW Electric Vehicle Designs Are Coming To An End

Future EVs will look just like the rest of its range. BMW was one of the first premium auto manufacturers to offer both hybrid and electric vehicles as part of its model range, and while mild hybrid offerings based on the 3 and 5 Series sedans were almost identical to the gas-powered models, the i3 and i8 were all-new designs intended to draw attention to its innovative powertrains. According to Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW’s design director, the need to showcase EVs in this manner is coming to an end. Electric vehicles in the future will look identical to their conventionally powered stablemates. “Electric mobility will spread through our entire vehicle range in quite a short space of time - to the point that electric or plug-in hybrid is just another option box you tick as you order the car,” said van Hooydonk. He did go on to say that innovative design was still a core component of the BMW brand and that the i cars especially, will showcase forward-thinking styling. One-off designs like...

The front end sensor modulates current on the interface to send ID, state of health, and deployment commands to the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM). The SDM serves as a power source and a ground for the front end sensor. When the ignition is turned ON and input power from the SDM is first detected, the front end sensor responds by performing internal diagnostics and sending an ID to the SDM. The SDM considers the ID to be valid if the response time is less than 5 seconds. The front end sensor continually communicates status messages to the SDM, which determines if a fault i...

Michael Klim Keeps His Clothes On As He Steps Out During Fashion Week

Michael Klim Keeps His Clothes On As He Steps Out During Fashion Week A decidedly more covered up Michael Klim stepped out for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney on Thursday. Just a day after taking to the catwalk shirtless for men's designer Justin Cassin, the 41-year-old former Olympic swimmer attended the Ten Pieces show, this time as a guest. The show was held at Bondi Icebergs, with Michael happily posing for photos in front of the stunning backdrop ahead of the event. Share Wearing a pair of cropped baggy black pants and a white T-shirt, Michael seemed happy to be sitting out Thursday's fashion show. He rounded out his ensemble with an oversize black blazer and black leather combat boots, and accessorised with a pair of aviator sunglasses. Model turn: It was a shirtless Michael who had stepped onto the runway for Justin Cassin, but just a day later, he was sure to keep his clothes on. The previous evening, Michael had flaunted his athletic physique when he stepped out o...

2010 Cadillac Truck SRX AWD V6-2.8L Turbo Page 1570 supplies a 5 V reference signal to the sensor. The automatic transmission fluid temperature sensor is a variable resistor that measures the temperature of the transmission fluid and is a thermistor, or a resistor that changes value when the temperature changes. The sensor has a negative temperature coefficient. This means that as the temperature increases the resistance decreases and vice versa. The TCM will compare the temperature difference between the engine coolant temperature sensor and the automatic transmission fluid temperature sensor to determine if the temperatures are within an acceptable operating range of each other. This fault is handled inside the TCM and no external circuits are involved. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM. * Front vertical upward switch terminal A * Front vertical downward switch terminal K * Rear vertical upward switch terminal F * Rear vertical downward switch terminal J * Horizontal forward switch terminal D * Horizontal rearward switch terminal C * Recline forward switch terminal H * Recline rearward switch terminal G 3. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the seat adjuster switch. Component Testing 1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the seat adjuster switch. 2. Test for infinite resistance between each seat direction signal terminal listed below and the B+ terminal E with the switch in the open position. * Front vertical upward switch terminal A * Front vertical downward switch terminal K * Rear vertical upward switch terminal F * Rear vertical downward swit...

2010 Cadillac Truck Escalade EXT AWD V8-6.2L Page 512 Circuit Description When the power seat switches are pressed, they send a 12-volt signal through the switch signal circuits to the memory seat module (MSM). The MSM then commands the driver seat motors to move in response to the switch signals. Conditions for Running the DTC The memory seat module must be powered. Conditions for Setting the DTC * If a seat switch circuit is active in one direction and the switch for the opposite direction is pressed, this DTC will set. * Multiple DTCs will set if one of the switch signal circuits is shorted to voltage. Action Taken When the DTC Sets * A motor output driven in response to a switch considered failed, is deactivated for both directions. * All memory recall commands are ignored. * The MSM will respond to any other switch signal that has not set a DTC. Conditions for Clearing the DTC * The current DTC will clear and set the code to history, 3 seconds after the fault is no longer present ...
