serviced.

PROCESS
Determining California Emissions Control System Limited Warranties Coverage
To determine if a vehicle is eligible for California Emissions Control System Limited Warranties coverage, the following three items must be
considered:
^ Model year of the vehicle
^ Current state where the vehicle is registered
^ Original state where the vehicle was retailed (only for vehicles prior to the 2011 model year)
The California Emissions Control System Limited Warranties was originally established in California by the California Air Resources Board
(CARB). Over time, several other states have adopted all or portions of the California Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) regulations, so customers with
vehicles registered in those states also receive similar but not necessarily identical coverage. Please refer to the appropriate Service and Warranty
Booklet to determine applicable coverage.
Model Year
Although a vehicle's emissions warranty coverage "start time" is based on the retail date, the model year is a major factor for determining emissions
warranty coverage.
When a vehicle is sold, it is sold with the specific warranty coverage outlined in the applicable Service and Warranty booklet. The coverage varies
based on the model year of the vehicle.
Vehicle Registration and Original Retail State
For the 2011 model year and later vehicles, the California Emissions Control System Limited Warranty applies to a vehicle registered in a state that
has adopted the California LEV program, regardless of the original retail state.
From the 2011 model year, the Service and Warranty Booklet states:
The California Emissions Control System Limited Warranty applies to all [model year] US-specification MINI [models] registered in [specific
states].

For vehicles prior to the 2011 model year, the California Emissions Control System Limited Warranty applies to vehicles that were sold, leased
and/or registered in a state that has adopted the California LEV program. MINI vehicles initially retailed, leased or currently registered in one of
these "California LEV states" are not eligible for this coverage.
Before the 2011 model year, the Service and Warranty Booklet states:
The California Emissions Control System Limited Warranty applies to all [model year] US-specification MINI vehicles sold, leased, and/or
registered in I.
