Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON, command the Parking Brake Cable Apply ON with a scan tool. Verify the Park Brake Position parameter is below 1250 counts.
瀚慖f greater than the specified value, make sure the park brake cable is connected properly and check park brake linings for excessive wear,
and ensure proper clearance to drum.
2. Verify DTC C0558 is not set.
瀚慖f DTC is set, perform the Parking Brake Calibration procedure in Module Setup.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) receives serial data messages from the body control module (BCM), engine control module (ECM),
instrument panel cluster (IPC), and the transmission control module (TCM) which are needed to perform antilock brake system (ABS), vehicle
stability enhancement system (VSES), or traction control system (TCS) functions.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* Ignition ON.
* Ignition voltage is greater than 10 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The EBCM receives an invalid serial data message from another module.
Actions Taken when the DTC Sets
* The EBCM disables the antilock brake system (ABS), traction control and StabiliTrak for the duration of the ignition cycle.
* A DIC message and/or a warning indicator may be displayed.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
