DTC Descriptor

DTC B0005 00

- In Park Switch Circuit

Circuit/System Description

The body control module (BCM) supplies the park enable signal circuit voltage when the vehicle transmission is in Park.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The system voltage is between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The BCM detects there is a short to ground for greater than 5 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The BCM will not supply voltage to the circuit.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The current DTC will clear when the malfunction is no longer present.

* A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold of 50, without a repeat of the malfunction.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 harness connector at the BCM.

2. Verify there is no aftermarket component wired to terminal 19.

瀚慖f there is an aftermarket component wire, test the circuit terminal for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

3. If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
