Audi RS3 Pricing Leaks: Here's How Much Four Doors And 400 HP Costs

The leaked prices are in Canadian dollars. Thankfully math exists.

The Audi RS3 floored us at the 2016 Paris Motor Show with its brutish 400-horsepower five-cylinder engine. We said the little sedan had what it takes to run with the BMW M2, at least on the street anyway. Of course if Audi wants the RS3 to truly compete with the M2 it will need to price it accordingly. So far the price tag of the sporty compact sedan has been kept secret by the German automaker. That may change with this latest report from QuattroWorld which has obtained a leaked order guide for the new RS3.

The pricing is all in Canadian dollars, but fortunately the good folks over at QuattroWorld have done the math for us. In the Great White North the base price for the RS3 will be $62,900 CAD ($47,998 USD). Apparently the price difference between RS models in the the US and Canada is around 8.5%, give or take. That math gives the RS3 a base price of around $53,000 to $55,000 USD. For reference the M2 has an MSRP of $52,695, but good luck finding one for that price. The other go-fast European small car the Audi will compete against is the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. It boasts 375 horsepower and a starting price of about $51,000. The RS3 has a handful of options, including eight different paint choices and four different sets of wheels.

If it were our money we would option the front carbon ceramic brakes ($5,800 CAD/$4,429 USD) and the Sport Package ($1,750 CAD/$1,336 USD). The latter equips the RS3 with an RS fixed sport suspension, carbon fiber engine cover and a higher top speed of 280 kph, or 173 mph.
