SITUATION
The customer may complain of one or both of the following situations:
1. The door window rattles when opening or closing the driver's side or passenger's side door.
2. Squeaking noises are heard when raising or lowering the front window.
CAUSE
1. The anti-rattle clips are fitted incorrectly or are missing from the window regulator guides.
2. There is a lack of grease lubricant on window regulator guide rails.
CORRECTION
To correct both situations install anti-rattle clips and lubricate the window regulator guide rails using a repair kit (P/N 51 33 7 177 925).
PROCEDURE
Note:
Perform the following procedure on the driver's side and passenger's side window regulators.
Remove the inner door panel per Repair Instructions RA 51 41 000.
Remove the window regulator per Repair Instructions RA 51 33 000.
The anti-rattle clips will be installed on both galvanized sliding rails of the regulator.
Before installing the anti-rattle clip, it is important to coat the sliding surface (1) of the clip with the special grease supplied in the repair kit. Plastic
holding tab (2).
Using a pair of pliers (2), grasp the anti-rattle clip (1) by the plastic holding tab and push the metal clip portion onto the galvanized rail, just above
the lower white plastic slide (3). Push firmly so that the barbs of the clip slide over the radius of the rail to hold it securely in place. Install an

anti-rattle clip (1) to both sliding rails of the regulator.
Once the anti-rattle clips (1) are secure, break off the plastic holding tabs using the pliers (2).
After installing the anti-rattle clips (1), apply the special grease supplied in the repair kit to the front and back sides of both regulator rails.
Note:
Wear marks on the regulator rail coating may be found in the areas indicated by the illustration. This is a normal situation and is a result of the
window "short drop" function.
Do not replace the regulator because of these wear marks.
Reinstall window regulators and check the window operation.
Note:
If a window squeaking noise still persists after applying the grease, check if the outer and inner door weather-strips are causing the noise.
