10 Awesome Tuning Jobs You Don't Want To Miss

From an 800-hp VW sleeper to a turbocharged 370Z, it's been a busy few weeks for the aftermarket world.

Since our last compilation, the 2018 SEMA show took place, featuring some of the most insane tuning jobs imaginable. While some of the cars on this list did make their debut at SEMA, we wanted to give other cars a chance to hog a bit of the spotlight as well. The aftermarket world has had a busy few weeks, and here are ten that you may have missed.

Project Clubsport 23

For years, we've been begging Nissan to update the 370Z with a turbocharged engine. Nissan finally listened, well, kind of. At this year's SEMA Show, the automaker showed off a 2012 Nissan 370 Nismo with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Infiniti Q50 and Q60. This 370Z, dubbed Project Clubsport 23, now produces 400 hp, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, Project Clubsport 23 is unlikely to ever reach production.

Volkswagen Touareg Sleeper

You may be asking why we included an ugly green Volkswagen Toureg on this list. But take a look at what's under the hood and you may change your mind. This particular Toureg houses the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from an Audi RS6, tuned up to 802 horsepower. Amazingly, nothing about the exterior of the car was changed, making it the ultimate sleeper SUV.

Posaidon Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet

The Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet is already an insanely quick car - we managed to reach 60 mph from standstill in 3.3 seconds. Posaidon clearly didn't think the original 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 with 577 hp was enough, so it upped the output to 1,005 hp. The car now hits 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 218 mph.

Mansory Rolls-Royce Phantom

Mansory has a reputation for building extremely opulent, yet very polarizing cars. The tuning house recently took on the new Rolls-Royce Phantom, fitting it with an even larger front grille and some additional exterior changes. Under the hood, the twin-turbo V12 has been tuned so it now produces 602 hp (up from 563 hp). Inside, the interior comes wrapped in even finer leather with diamond-stitched ornaments.

BMW M2 D?hler Competition Line

BMW already gave the M2 a major upgrade with the latest Competition model, but tuning companies like D?hler have improved the car even further. The Competition Line takes the M2 Competition's S55 inline-six and ups the power from 405 hp up to either 510 or 540 depending on the level of tune. The car also features a new exhaust, suspension, brakes, wheels, and aero.

Liberty Walk Suzuki Jimny

The newest Suzuki Jimny is an excellent cheap alternative to a Jeep Wrangler or Mercedes G-Glass. Liberty Walk clearly agrees because the company has designed a G-Class-inspired body kit for the little Jimny, giving it a more aggressive look. As with one of the company's G-Class body kits, the Jimny features flared wheel arches as well as a revised front fascia to make it look more like the Mercedes.

Jay Leno's Lincoln Navigator

When you're Jay Leno, walking into the local Lincoln dealership to buy a car doesn't suffice. That's why Leno had his Lincoln Navigator customized by Galpin Motors, under the direction of the Lincoln Design Studio. Leno's Navigator is painted Chroma Crystal Blue with the Yacht Club interior theme along with a two-tone scheme on the inside and out. No performance upgrades were mentioned but we'd be surprised if the 3.5-liter 450 hp twin-turbo V6 was left stock.

G-Power BMW M6

Even though the BMW M6 is now out of production, it is still a very pretty car with a lot to offer in the aftermarket. The car's 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 552 hp in stock form, but G-Power took this car's output all the way up to 789 hp. We also love the gold orange wheels and the big wing, which appear to be a nod to the BMW M4 GTS.

Fostla AMG GT

Even though the AMG GT is the most extreme car in the Mercedes-AMG lineup, there has not yet been a Black Series version of it. German tuner Fostla was tired of waiting, so it decided to build its own. The car has been made wider and more aggressive than the standard car. Along with the visual upgrades, Fostla upped the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to 650 hp, making it even more powerful than the AMG GT R.

Hennessey VelociRaptor V8

The Ford F-150 Raptor became more powerful and more efficient in its switch from a V8 to a turbocharged V6, but some people still missed the V8. Hennessey's latest VelociRaptor replaces the twin-turbo EcoBoost with a 750 hp supercharged V8. Only 100 buyers will be able to purchase one for a whopping $147,950, but this new VelociRaptor will provide the V8 soundtrack people have been missing.
