Lost At Sea: Mulliner Puts A Boat Deck Inside A Bentley Continental GT鈥 檚 Trunk

Presenting the Bentley Motors Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition by Mulliner, a car with nearly as many syllables in its name as examples being built. It is a hand-crafted batch of exactly 30 vehicles, and yet another luxury automaker鈥檚 ode to yachts, this time named after the Greek goddess of calm seas, Galene. Bentley鈥檚 customization division, Mulliner, took the wheel for this project in collaboration with Princess Yachts, a British manufacturer not to be confused with the less lavish and much cheesier Princess Cruises. Mulliner is the group that鈥檚 made the word bespoke so trite, executing treatments to suit individual buyers. A run of 30 cars looks more like off-the-rack stuff than Mulliner鈥檚 usual work, but the Continental GT is going to be replaced soon and British brands love to finish a run with a series of special editions. Supposedly intended to evoke the sparkles of light bouncing off a wavy ocean, the Galene Edition鈥檚 body is dressed in Glacier White paint with Sequin Blue brightware.

The car sits on polished 21-inch propeller-style wheels that, to our eyes, resemble windmills more than they resemble the things that propel yachts, but we digress. Opulence steps up a notch inside the vehicle. The seats are covered with Linen (off-white) and Portland (gray) leather with Camel (tan) cross-stitching. The dashboard, center console, armrests, and steering wheel carry a Linen, Brunel (blue-gray), and Camel palette throughout the interior. The Galene also includes an eyeglasses case embedded into the center tunnel that is lined with Brunel-colored ersatz-suede microfiber. This case matches the passenger-side dashboard fascia, which also is finished in Glacier White and features a hand-painted yacht illustration by Spanish artist Jaume Vilardell, just to make sure everybody knows about the nautical theme. The centerpiece of the car is what Bentley calls Pinstripe Walnut, a new finish that has been created by Mulliner. Used on the center-console panel above the infotainment screen that surrounds the clock and air vents as well as on the center tunnel, the open-pore walnut inserts supposedly resemble a gorgeously laid boat deck. The wood also can be seen in the Mulliner-branded door sills, and most notably lining the entire floor of the trunk, which looks more like a piece of art than a place to store luggage. Mechanically, this Continental GT is exactly the same as its regular dealership counterparts. A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 sits under the hood and provides 500 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. Boat-themed special-edition cars have become all too common, really, seen plenty of times by Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz, and even trickling down to cars like the Fiat 500 Abarth. The Galene is certainly gorgeous inside and out, but it might be time to look to new areas for inspiration.

Features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, as are the two USB ports in the front. There are also two additional USB ports and a 12-volt outlet for rear seat passengers, plus available Wi-Fi hotspot. One cool piece of tech is the Connect portfolio with 鈥渟warm intelligence鈥? a feature that helps cars communicate with among themselves regarding road and weather hazards. The system will be available in Europe and possibly in the U.S. As for safety, the all-new 2019 Audi Q3 comes with forward emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, plus adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist and active lane assist. A six-speed manual will follow on a later date. The diesel range will start off with the 2.0-liter TDI producing 148 hp and 340 Nm of torque. Badged as the Q3 35 TDI, it鈥檒l be initially available with a manual transmission and all-wheel drive, with a seven-speed dual-clutch unit to follow on a later date. Audi also plans to offer a more powerful version of the 2.0-liter TDI, with 187 hp in the near future. The new model also gets automatic damping control and a 鈥渄ynamic handling system鈥?with the following six drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Offroad, Efficiency and Individual. European customers will land their 2019 Q3 crossovers this November, while U.S.

The 991 is offered with a 7-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) automatic transmission. It has a longer wheelbase than the 997. The anti-roll bar of the 991 utilises hydraulic cylinders, enabling better handling performance. The Carrera S was made available in Need for Speed: World on December 20, 2011 as a tier 3 car. Since August 22, 2012, it has been featured as an A class car. Its performance is up to par with the fastest class A cars of the game and very similar to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Like the GT3 RS, the Carrera S is very responsive in corners although it is also more stable. However, this trait comes at the cost of a slightly worse acceleration, which is especially noticeable in seventh gear. The Carrera has a powerful nitrous boost and a top speed of 216 mph (348 km/h). 2,000,000 as part of the End of the World event.

5300. It was released on December 20, 2011 as a top-up gift during the Winter Holiday event. It is equipped with a snowflake particle trail emitting from the vehicle's rear. The Porsche 991 Carrera S made its first debut in a racing game with the release of Need for Speed: The Run. It is available in stock and two special edition trims. All variants of the car are exclusive to the Limited Edition release. The standard version of the Carrera S, which is rated as a Tier 3 car, has the highest top speed within its class. It has a balanced handling and decent acceleration. The special edition models include a Need for Speed Edition, which is already available in San Francisco as a starter car and the Snowflake Edition, which is based on the Snowflake 911 Turbo from Need for Speed: World. The NFS Edition, which appears as a tier 4 vehicle, is selectable as a starter car during Stage 1 of The Run mode.
