Can You Tell What Model This Is?

There was a car show going on at Jerudong Park last weekend. The social media were flooded with pictures for that two day events. Can you tell what model this is? It is a Porsche but looks can be deceiving. If you are a Porschephile you will know this is not the 911 (997.2). The roof line will give away a big hint what hide underneath the body. This lady and gentleman is the Porsche Cayman S. Yeap, a Cayman S with a full cosmetic makeover to mimic the 911(997.2). The kit installed in this Cayman is one very expensive kit. 13,000 depend on where you purchase online. Price is not inclusive of shipping and local tax. 20,000 to have it fully imported to Brunei. And yes those are genuine Porsche front and rear lamps(not included in the kit price)! I came across this kit several years ago while I was searching for a kit for my Boxster S. This kit was one of the best kit to have come out for Boxster/Cayman. The kit require most body panel to be replaced. Some section will require drilling and attachment on the original Cayman panels. This wheels is aftermarket TECHART Formula III wheels. You can choose different front bumper to suit your taste. Here are the link 1. If you have the balls you can even convert your Boxster to the Porsche 918 Spyder! I am quite stoked to see one of this kit in Brunei! The last time I saw a Porsche with full body make over was a genuine Yellow Porsche TECHart 996 Turbo S. That car was really a sight to behold. Hopefully I can see this Cayman on road soon or even meet the owner. I am really interested to know the progress of this car from the beginning to the end. I give this car a big two thumbs up.

Until a few years ago it was hard to imagine Porsche worrying about efficiency. Exotic and sports car manufacturer is still one of the leading brands in these segments. But slowly, as market challenged them, they started to make less aggressive vehicles, and more family cars. One of these is Cayenne SUV. Many enthusiasts had a lot of doubts in this crossover. But, ever since its release, the SUV is growing. Now, it follows the latest trends and comes as 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. Again, the German carmaker is surprising us. From one of the most successful producers of sports and racing cars to fuel-friendly SUV. However, the company keeps the dose of aggressiveness on the new 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. But, it is now more economical and greener. The entire industry is taking this path, and now we can read rumors about Ferrari developing its hybrid SUV. With Cayenne E-Hybrid, Porsche will be ready for all challenges.

Who knows, if they move on, their next crossover could be EV, which will be eligible to compete with Tesla鈥檚 electric SUVs. According to first tests, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will be more fuel-friendly then before. Also, the vehicle delivers a better range. The new SUV will be able to go 27 miles by using the electric generator only. Although the company will save some weight, the performance of the hybrid crossover is still impressing. The 2019 Cayenne E-Hybrid will sprint to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is set for 157 mph. This hybrid is pretty potent. Compared to Cayenne S, it can deliver more power. According to some estimations, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will burst 462 hp, which is 22 ponies more than its sibling can offer. Most of the power comes from a 3.0-liter turbo V6, while the electric motor adds its contribution as well. Not only that horsepower output receives a boost, but also torque and mileage.

The other one is more important in this case. While the standard model returns 21 mpg combined, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will add at least 3 mpg to it. With electric mode, the crossover is ready to return over 50 MPGe. Again, that is another boost from current value (47 MPGe). The shape of the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is the same as for standard model. However, the crossover gets some tweaks and original solutions, so we can recognize it as soon as we see it. Highlights are 19-inch wheels, which can be replaced by optional 22-inch alloy rims. More fun starts when you step into this car. A 10-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate controls, navigation with internet access, and many more features are making this premium vehicle even better. These are all parts of the new infotainment system PCM - Porsche Communication Management. For the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, there is still no Android Auto services, but Apple offers its CarPlay.
