A report in German magazine Der Spiegelclaimed that Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW have conspired to form anti-competitive agreements in developing the diesel-emissions systems. In the wake of VW鈥檚 diesel scandal, German and U.S. Fiat Chrysler, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW. All have denied the reports. Fiat Chrysler has been formally sued in court by the U.S.

Introduction: Porsche made an official announcement regarding its termination of production of diesel engine models. They ended the production of diesel engines recently. The primary reason behind this decision is nil demand of diesel engine cars. Adding to this, customers are inclining towards electrified versions of cars. Hence, there is hardly any future of the diesel models. Cayenne is the first Porsche with a diesel option. The last Porsche with a diesel option is Macan S Diesel and Panamera 4S Diesel. Very recently, Porsche doubled its budget for producing electric models of cars. Shortly after this, Porsche announced the termination of production of its diesel models. The cessation in the production of electric cars gives us a hint as to intention of the brand. The brand seems to be extremely dedicated towards production of hybrid sports cars and electric cars. According to Marcus Kabel, Porsche North America Corporate Communication Manager, Diesel engines do not have a significant role to play at Porsche. Porsche is also not involved in the development of diesel engines by its own. He also added if you observe the current market, you will find the demand for diesel engines is on the fall. The interests in gasoline or hybrid models are increasing stupendously. Kabel said in the United States, the ever offered diesel car is the Cayenne. Porsche Cars North America made a decision of voluntarily discontinuing the sales of diesel vehicles from 2014 through 2016. Going ahead, the focus of Porsche would be gasoline, hybrid powertrains and electrification. Porsche will stop offering Diesel powertrains to US in the future days.

Audi is putting the final touches on the next generation Q3 SUV. Although the dashboard is still heavily covered, we鈥檙e able to spot the main features on the interior which are none other than the new high-definition displays used for the infotainment and instrument cluster. Cutting-edge connectivity systems have become a necessity in the premium compact SUV segment and Audi knows how to impress with its interiors. This pretty much guarantees that the next Q3 will offer one of the best environments available to the driver and occupants. The current Audi Q3 is still based on the old PQ35 architecture and its replacement will ride on the more sophisticated MQB platform. The new car will be longer and slightly lighter, offering more space and better fuel efficiency. Base models in Europe will be offered with front-wheel drive, leaving the Quattro all-wheel drive system for the more powerful versions. Audi wants the new Q3 to offer a more comfortable ride and agile handling in order to successfully compete with the best in a very crowded segment that has exploded in popularity during the past few years. The engine range will most likely kick off with the Group鈥檚 widely used 1.5-liter TSI unit and will include a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-pot with 400 hp in the range-topping SQ5. Mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will also be present in the range. Audi plans to add an all-electric eTron variant as well.

Porsche has announced a new addition to the 911 family called the Carrera T, which is lighter than the standard models. Costing 拢85,576, the 鈥楾鈥?stands for Touring. It鈥檚 based on the entry-level rear-wheel-drive 911 Carrera but has been lightened by 20kg - thanks to weight-saving measures such as the thinner glass rear window, pull loops for door handles and the removal of the rear seats. It comes with a seven-speed manual gearbox as standard. Ride height has been lowered by 10mm and Porsche鈥檚 Sport Chrono Package comes as standard. Options for the Carrera T include rear-axle steering, which is not available on the standard Carrera. The T comes with the 911 Carrera鈥檚 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine with 365bhp and 450Nm of torque. The diet has resulted in an improved power-to-weight ratio of 260bhp per tonne, with performance benefitting, too. Acceleration has been boosted, with the manual Carrera T doing 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds - a tenth quicker than the Carrera. Due to the sporty nature of the T, it gains its 20-inch titanium grey wheels from the Carrera S, while adding 鈥?11 Carrera T鈥?decals along the side skirts separating it from the standard range. Inside, you鈥檒l find a black leather interior with distinctive yellow stitching and 鈥?11鈥?logos etched onto the headrest. The 911 Carrera T is available to order now. Costing 拢85,576, the T commands a premium of 拢8,600 over the standard Carrera. First deliveries are expected in January and - as with any new Porsche model - the German marque is offering customers a bespoke driving experience at the brand鈥檚 Experience Centre in Silverstone. Is the new Porsche 911 Carrera T worth the extra money?
