Dealers are encouraged to make every effort to demonstrate Cadillac's commitment to complete customer satisfaction as they administer
this program. An allowance for pick-up/drop-off of customer and loaner vehicles is provided in this bulletin. This service is intended for
retail sold customer vehicles and is not to be claimed for stock vehicles, demonstrator vehicles or other dealer-use vehicles.
Condition
On certain 2010 model year Cadillac SRX vehicles, the customer may feel a slight shudder or vibration, or may hear a clunking noise during
engine start-up or heavy acceleration. In addition, the wire harness on power front seats without the memory feature may chafe or be pinched by the
seat frame, which could disable the power seat adjusters and prevent the customer from being able to adjust the seat.
Correction
Dealers are to install a service kit for the propshaft rear center bearing on all-wheel drive vehicles, or re-torque the transmission bolts on
front-wheel drive vehicles. Dealers are to also relocate and secure the wiring harness on front power seats without the memory feature.
Vehicles Involved
Involved are certain 2010 model year Cadillac SRX vehicles built within these VIN breakpoints:
Important
Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using the Investigate Vehicle History link. Not all vehicles within the
above breakpoints may be involved.
For dealers with involved vehicles, a listing with involved vehicles containing the complete vehicle identification number, customer name, and
address information has been prepared and will be provided to US and Canadian dealers through the GM GlobalConnect Recall Reports. Dealers
will not have a report available if they have no involved vehicles currently assigned.
The listing may contain customer names and addresses obtained from Motor Vehicle Registration Records. The use of such motor vehicle
registration data for any purpose other than follow-up necessary to complete this program is a violation of law in several states/provinces/countries.
Accordingly, you are urged to limit the use of this report to the follow-up necessary to complete this program.
Parts Information
Snubber kits required to complete this program are to be obtained from General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales (GMCC&A). Please refer to
your "involved vehicles listing" before ordering parts. Normal orders should be placed on a DRO=Daily Replenishment Order. In an emergency
situation, parts should be ordered on a CSO=Customer Special Order.
Parts for the wire harness repair (all vehicles) are to be obtained locally, see table below.
No parts are required for the transmission bolt re-torque (FWD vehicles).
Courtesy Transportation
The General Motors Courtesy Transportation program is intended to minimize customer inconvenience when a vehicle requires a repair that is
covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranties. The availability of courtesy transportation to customers whose vehicles are within the warranty
coverage period and involved in a product program is very important in maintaining customer satisfaction. Dealers are to ensure that these

customers understand that shuttle service or some other form of courtesy transportation is available and will be provided at no charge. Dealers
should refer to the General Motors Service Policies and Procedures Manual for Courtesy Transportation guidelines.
Claim Information
1. Submit a claim using the table below.
2. Courtesy Transportation - Submit as Net Item under the repair labor code.
* If a wire harness repair was required, submit a claim for the harness repair using the published labor operation code and labor time published in
the Labor Time Guide.
** If the propeller shaft was replaced, submit a claim for the shaft replacement using the published labor operation code and labor time published in
the Labor Time Guide.
*** The amount identified in "Net Item" should represent the actual sum total of the butyl tape/patch and tie strap needed to perform the required
repairs, not to exceed $3.50 USD, $3.76 CAD,and $25.00 USD/CAD each way for the pick-up and drop-off of customer and loaner vehicles, if
applicable, not to exceed $50.00 USD/CAD. Stock vehicles, demonstrator vehicles, and all other dealer-use vehicles are not eligible for
pick-up/drop-off allowance.
Customer Notification
Cadillac notified customers of this program by telephone.
Dealer Program Responsibility
All unsold new vehicles in dealers' possession and subject to this program must be held and inspected/repaired per the service procedure of this
program bulletin before customers take possession of these vehicles.
Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this program at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, from this
time forward.
Customers who have recently purchased vehicles sold from your vehicle inventory, and for which there is no customer information indicated on the
dealer listing, are to be contacted by the dealer. Arrangements are to be made to make the required correction according to the instructions
contained in this bulletin. Program follow-up cards should not be used for this purpose, since the customer may not as yet have received the
notification letter.
In summary, whenever a vehicle subject to this program enters your vehicle inventory, or is in your dealership for service in the future, you must
take the steps necessary to be sure the program correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.

Non-Memory Six-Way Power Seat Wiring Harness Inspection and Service Procedure
3M Scotch Electrical Moisture Sealant Butyl Tape/Patch, P/N 06147 or 06149, and a tie strap are required for this repair.
The wire harness on front non-memory 6-way power seats may chafe or be pinched by the seat frame.
1. Determine which front seat has the non-memory six-way power seat option. Only one of the two front seats will have the non-memory
six-way power seat option.
- If the driver seat is equipped with the non-memory six-way power seat option, the passenger seat is equipped with a manual seat. Inspect
and repair ONLY the driver seat.
- If the driver seat is equipped with the memory six-way power seat option, the passenger seat is equipped with a non-memory six-way

power seat option. Inspect and repair ONLY the passenger seat.
2. Adjust the seat to the forward position to gain access to the rear bolts.
3. Raise the seat to the full up position using the rear vertical lifter switch (1).
4. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SI.
5. Remove the rear seat bolts.
6. Pull the seat rearward and then tilt the seat back until the seat is resting on its backside.
7. Pull the power seat wire harness (1) down. Inspect the wire harness (1) for any damage, scoring, pinched areas, or chaffing.
- If wire damage is found, repair the wire harness. Refer to Repairing Damaged Wire Insulation and Wiring Repair in SI. After completing
the wire repair, proceed to Step 8.
- If no wire damage is found, proceed to Step 8.

8. Apply a piece of butyl tape (3M Scotch 06147, 06149 or equivalent) (4) to the seat frame tab (2). Ensure that the whole seat frame tab (2) is
covered with the butyl tape (4). The seat frame tab (2) is next to the front shield bracket (3).
9. Route the power seat wire harness (1) above the seat frame tab (2) and secure it at this location with a tie strap (5).
10. Cinch down the tie strap (5) that was loosely installed to the power seat wire harness at the seat frame tab location. Clip the excess tie strap
(5).
11. Install the seat in the upright position.
12. Install the rear seat bolts. Tighten seat bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).
13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SI.
14. Cycle the rear vertical lifter motor several times up and down. Carefully watch under the front outboard corner using an inspection mirror.
Look for any possibility of the harness pinching in the rework area.
15. Determine if the vehicle is equipped with front wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system.
- If the vehicle is equipped with front wheel drive, refer to Front Wheel Drive Service Procedure in this bulletin.
- If the vehicle is equipped with an all-wheel drive system, refer to All-Wheel Drive Service Procedure in this bulletin.
Front Wheel Drive Service Procedure
No parts are required for this repair.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.

2. Locate the transmission mount bolts.
1. Loosen the two bolts. Back out the two bolts several turns. Ensure that there is zero (0) torque on the two bolts.
2. Tighten the two bolts to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus an additional 135 degrees.
3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
All-Wheel Drive Service Procedure
The Snubber Kit, P/N 20930100, is required for this repair.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
2. Locate the rear center bearing bracket (2).
3. Inspect the rear center bearing bracket isolator (2) for a tear (1).
- If a tear (1) is present and it is greater than 2 cm (51/64 in), replace the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in SI. After
replacing the propeller shaft, proceed to Step 4.
- If a tear (1) is not found or the tear (1) is under 2 cm (51/64 in), proceed to Step 4.
4. Clean the backside of the rear center bearing housing.

1. Use a 3M Scotch-Brite(TM) general purpose hand pad, P/N 7447, or equivalent to clean the inside surface (1) of the rear center bearing
bracket housing. Ensure that paint overspray, residue, dirt, or debris is removed from the housing surface (1).
2. Clean the housing surface (1) with Isopropyl alcohol and a cloth.
5. Place a jack stand underneath the propeller shaft near the center bearing housing. Ensure that the propeller shaft is properly supported.
6. Remove both center bearing bolts on the rear bracket.
7. Lower the jack stand.
8. Fit the rear center bearing brace to the rear center bearing bracket.
9. Rotate the rear center bearing bracket and brace (1) to obtain a good view of the rubber insert tab on the rear center bearing bracket brace.
Refer to the illustration.
10. Using a yellow or white marker, mark the location of the rubber insert tab retainers of the brace onto the rear center bearing bracket as shown
in the illustration.
11. Remove the rear center bearing brace from the rear center bearing bracket.
12. Rotate the rear center bearing bracket back to the production orientation.
13. Apply two thin beads of LOCTITE(R) 411(TM) (1) along the leading edge on the inner diameters of the rubber inserts as shown in the
illustration.

14. Insert the first rubber insert (1) into the housing in a 2 o'clock position as shown in the illustration. Use the rubber insert tab marks created in
Step 10 as an alignment reference point for the top portion of the rubber insert (1).
15. Insert the second rubber insert (1) into the housing in an 11 o'clock position as shown in the illustration. Use the rubber insert tab marks
created in Step 10 as an alignment reference point for the top portion of the rubber insert (1).
16. Raise the jack stand and install the rear center bearing bracket and rear center bearing bracket brace (1) together as shown in the illustration.
17. Ensure that the center bearing bracket (1), brace (2), bolts, and washers are centered on the bracket tabs. If bracket or brace is twisted, loosen
both center bearing bolts and reposition the center bearing bracket and brace so the bolts and washers are centered on the bracket tabs.
Tighten the bolts to 58 Nm (43 lb ft).
18. Bend the bottom brace tab (1) over the center bearing housing as shown in the illustration.
19. Install a jack underneath the rear drive module (RDM). Ensure that the RDM is properly supported.
20. Loosen, but do not remove, the two RDM bolts.
21. Lower the RDM.
22. Remove the first RDM bolt. Discard the bolt.

Note
There is a production shim at each RDM bolt location. A second shim, which is provided in the service kit, must be placed on top of the
production shim. DO NOT remove the production shim. The installation of two shims per side (production shim and service shim) is
required.
23. Install the first shim (1) as shown in the illustration.
24. Install a new RDM bolt but do not tighten the bolt.
25. Remove the second RDM bolt. Discard the bolt.
Note
There is a production shim at each RDM bolt location. A second shim, which is provided in the service kit, must be placed on top of the
production shim. DO NOT remove the production shim. The installation of two shims per side (production shim and service shim) is
required.
26. Install the second shim (1) as shown in the illustration.

27. Install a new RDM bolt but do not tighten the bolt.
28. Raise the RDM.
29. Tighten the two new RDM bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb ft) plus an additional 90 degrees.
30. Remove the jack from the work area.
