BMW will launch the 1-series in India on September 3 with petrol and diesel engine options. Pre-bookings for the car are on. The 1-series will come with two engine options, a petrol and diesel. The 118d is powered by the 1997cc diesel motor that we have seen in other BMW models. The motor is, however, detuned to 143bhp for the 1-series, and that gives it an edge over Mercedes' A 180 CDI. The petrol motor is also a hi-tech 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injection motor that also powers the Mini Cooper and Cooper S. The engine in the 1-series develops a healthy 136bhp of power. BMW claims that the diesel engine-equipped 1-series will return 20.58kpl, whereas the petrol will return16.28kpl. The car will also come with auto Start/Stop function, which should boost efficiency. Both motors will come mated with 8-speed automatic gearboxes only. BMW will also tweak the suspension of the 1-series to cope with Indian roads. The 1-series, true to BMW genetics, has a longitudnal engine, rear-wheel drive layout and 50:50 weight distribution, and will surely spice up the luxury hatchback segment here. The German carmaker has already started testing the car in India. BMW has already begun accepting pre-bookings for the 1-series. What's more, the carmaker is also offering its 'BMW Service Inclusive Plus' package free of cost for the first 100 customers. According to the carmaker, this includes services "as often as necessary" within the inclusive period, with the added bonus of avoiding the inconvenience of discussing cost estimates and undertaking financial transactions at every workshop visit. The car would be locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai, so expect prices to be in the range of around Rs 20-25 lakh.
The Q7 is up to 325kg lighter than its predecessor, and while the drop will be less pronounced on the A4, a 100kg-plus weight saving is likely. Combine this with redesigned multi-link suspension, optional adaptive dampers and a new nine-speed auto, and the A4 has a spec to back up Hackenberg鈥檚 glowing report. He opened up about the looks, too, saying: 鈥淭he new design doesn鈥檛 change the proportions. You know it鈥檚 an A4, but the details are all modern.鈥?Our images show the gentle design evolution, with sharper lines, but the same basic silhouette as the current car. In fact, we know precisely how the new headlights will look, after a photo of the real thing undisguised (white car, above) was leaked on a Chinese blog site. Engines will range from a 123bhp 1.4 TFSI petrol with cylinder shutdown tech to a 3.0 TDI diesel, with various 2.0 TDIs in between.
A plug-in hybrid A4 e-tron will travel 30 miles on battery power alone, and call on a 187bhp 2.0 TDI when charge is low. Audi has also unveiled a brand-new 2.0-litre TFSI petrol unit that will debut with the A4. The company calls it the "most efficient two-litre petrol engine in its class", a bold claim that is matched by some impressive figures. Despite producing 187bhp and 320Nm of torque, it is capable of a claimed 56.5mpg combined. While the A4 saloon will come first, replacements for the Avant estate and Avant Allroad will follow in 2016, as will a new A5coupe, A5 Sportback and A5 Cabriolet. You could be forgiven for thinking the car hidden under this psychedelic camouflage is the current A4. But according to Audi bosses, beneath the familiar outline will be a set of dazzling styling details and a new chassis that makes the compact exec sharper to drive one minute and more comfortable the next.
Due to low numbers originally produced, availability for a Porsche Carrera GT for sale is limited as the automobiles come up to buy infrequently. Investment status has been great as the exotic car resale market continues to stay strong, especially with only 1,270 produced and many wrecked along the way. When looking for an investment grade GT its best to start with one of the more rare color options. Only five colors were available when the GT left the factory. Seal Grey, Basalt Black, Fayence Yellow, Guards Red and GT Silver. Introduced at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the open top convertible concept was so widely appreciated that the German automaker decided to produce the V10 supercar. Coming off the production in early January of 2004, the 2005 GT featured the adjustable wing available on the 911 and Boxster models, which would rise above speeds of 70 mph. With heritage stemming back to the 911 GT1 and LMP1-98 racecars, it isn鈥檛 surprising that this Stuttgart bullet is capable of sprinting from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and hitting a top speed of 205 mph.
