Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.

* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.

* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Ignition ON, observe the function of the rear interior door handles while selecting the child safety lock switch to LOCK. The rear interior

door handles should be inoperative.

2. Observe the function of the rear interior door handles while selecting the child safety lock switch to UNLOCK, the rear doors should open

when using the interior rear door handles.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the X53 fuse block-rear.

2. Test for less than 5 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 27 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 19 and the ground circuit terminal 27.

4. Ignition ON, press and release the child safety lock switch. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF with each press of the switch.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace

the K9 BCM.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.

5. If all circuits tests normal, replace the X53 fuse block-rear.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

* Fuse Block Replacement (See: Maintenance/Fuses and Circuit Breakers/Fuse Block/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Fuse
