reference circuit.

The following table illustrates the difference between temperature, resistance, and voltage:

Conditions for Running the DTC

P0111 Idle Test

* Before the ECM can report DTC P0111 failed, DTC P0101 must run and pass.

* DTC P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0125, or P0128 is not set.

* The engine coolant temperature (ECT) at engine start is less than 110掳C (230掳F).

* The ECT is warmer than 66掳C (151掳F).

* The vehicle speed is less than 5 km/h (3 mph).

* The MAF is less than 8 g/s.

* DTC P0111 runs continuously when the above conditions are met for greater than 300 s.

P0111 Cruise Test

* Before the ECM can report DTC P0111 failed, DTC P0101 must run and pass.

* DTC P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, or P0128 is not set.

* The ECT at engine start is less than 110掳C (230掳F).

* The vehicle speed is greater than 29 km/h (18 mph).

* The MAF is between 7-67 g/s.

* Decel fuel cut-off is not active.

* DTC P0111 runs continuously when the above conditions are met for greater than 300 s.

P0111 Range Test-Except LLT

* The engine speed is greater than 25 RPM.

* The MAF is between 7-44 g/s.

* The vehicle speed is greater than 31 km/h (19 mph).

* DTC P0111 runs continuously when the above conditions are met for greater than 20 s.

P0112 and P0113

* The engine run time is greater than 3 min.

* The vehicle speed is less than 3 mph.

* The engine is idling for greater than 10 s.

* The ECT is warmer than -10掳C (14掳F).

* The MAF is less than 28 g/s.

* The DTCs runs continuously when the above conditions are met fro greater than 2 s.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

P0111

* The ECM detects that the IAT remains steady within 2掳C (4掳F) during the idle test.

* The ECM detects that the IAT decreased less than 2掳C (4掳F) during the cruise test.

* Any of the above conditions exists for greater than 4 s or cumulative of 30 s.

P0112

The ECM detects that the IAT sensor voltage is greater than 4.87 V for greater than 1 s or for a cumulative 10 s.

P0113

The ECM detects that the IAT sensor voltage is less than 0.21 V for greater than 1 s or for a cumulative 10 s.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTCs P0111, P0112, and P0113 are Type B DTCs.

Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

DTCs P0111, P0112, and P0113 are Type B DTCs.

Diagnostic Aids

* If the vehicle has sat overnight, the B66 IAT sensor and the B34 ECT sensor values should display within 3掳C (5掳F).

* High resistance on either the B66 IAT sensor signal circuit or the B66 IAT sensor low reference circuit could set a DTC.
