Important Notes:

^ First version navigation units are no longer available. If a replacement becomes necessary, you must use the second-version navigation unit.

^ Navigation disks are not interchangeable between first and second-version navigation units.

^ If the Navigation unit is replaced in an early MY2001 vehicle, you must use map software version 2001.1.

^ At this point, it is unclear if map updates will be offered for first or second-version navigation units. If so, this bulletin will be updated and

reissued.

Navigation disks are available from NavTech. Their customer support number is 1-888-628-6277.

Convertible top control unit malfunctioning (from MY 2000 onward only).

Information:

In some instances, the convertible top control unit has been found to cause the following problems:

1. The convertible top does not open or close.

2. The convertible top operation aborts.

As of December 23, 1999, a modified convertible top control unit is being installed in production. The modified top control unit can be identified

by a black paint dot located on the blue base plate. In cases of complaints, first check the relay to see if it has the paint dot on the base plate, then

proceed with the diagnostic checks.

Note:

The part number for the control unit has not changed. Only install relays with the black paint dot.
