Audio System - Interference From One Rear Indoor Speaker
Interference noise from one of the rear indoor speakers
Topic number LI82.62-P-052224
Version 1
Design group82.62 Loudspeakers, amplifiers, antennas
Date 03-26-2012
Validity Model 204 without sound system (code 810) as of production 09/2010 (as of VIN #A448864, #F564974, #L128647, #R163977) Reason for change
Complaint:
Interference noises (scratching noise) from one of the rear indoor speakers (H4/3 or H4/4).
Cause:
Due to tolerances in the door module, the indoor speaker (H4/3 or H4/4) may be riveted to the door module under stress. This stress in the speaker
causes the coil to scrape inside the speaker.
Remedy:
Replace problematic indoor speaker (H4/3 or H4/4). To rule out any other interference factors, remove the part number sticker (see attachment
above) from the door module wiring harness and shim the door control unit with a felt strip.
Note:

The door speaker is riveted onto the door module from behind.
