There is a rattle that comes from the center console that may not bother some people, but 8/31/2018 路 UPDATE 11/13/2017, 5:00 p.m.: Honda is recalling a small number of cars that may have had their passenger-side airbags incorrectly installed during a previous recall of 646 vehicles, according to Automotive News. Honda is recalling 716,671 cars to replace the passenger-side inflator.
Fiat Chrysler is recalling 317,000 vehicles to replace the passenger-side inflators. These include original-equipment and replacement parts in vehicles from the 2009, 2010, and 2013 model years produced by automakers Audi, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, and Toyota. In a NHTSA filing, Mitsubishi said it now has a sufficient supply but declined to specify whether the new parts were made by Takata. Honda confirmed to Reuters that the car had a defective airbag. UPDATE 1/18/2018, 6:00 p.m.: The Associated Press reports that another person has died as a result of a defective Takata airbag. UPDATE 1/18/2018, 1:00 p.m.: In addition to Toyota and Ford, more automakers have released recall information for Takata鈥檚 latest expansion of front-passenger airbag inflators announced on January 8. The additions below include vehicles that have already been recalled for driver鈥檚-side inflators. Ford, in addition to recalling the 2006 Ranger for both driver and passenger airbag inflators, is recalling the 2009-2010 Edge, Fusion, Mustang, Ranger, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKX, and Lincoln MKZ to replace the passenger-side inflator. McLaren is recalling 231 vehicles to replace the passenger-side inflators, which include the 2013 MP4-12C. Nissan is recalling 52,614 vehicles to replace the passenger-side inflators. The affected vehicles are: 2009-2010 and 2013 Scion xB; 2009-2010 and 2013 Toyota Corolla and Corolla Matrix, 2009-2010 Yaris, 2010 and 2013 4Runner, 2013 Sienna; 2009-2010 and 2013 Lexus IS250/350, IS250C/350C, and IS F, 2009-2010 ES350, and 2010 and 2013 GX460.
Affected models include the 2009-2010 Impreza and the 2009, 2010, and 2013 Forester, Legacy, Outback, Tribeca, and WRX. Also included are the 2009-2010 and 2012-2016 GL 1800 Gold Wing motorcycles. Maximums for four-cylinder models are not yet available. Many of these vehicles coincide with the long list of recalled U.S.-market models listed at the bottom of this page. This year, Mercedes has increased the availability of safety systems on the Sprinter, expanding the van's list of active tech-based driver aids. The company is recalling an additional 601,300 vehicles, none of which are models or model years that are new to the master list below. Considering Mercedes鈥?four-wheel drive Sprinter and Metris were each brought stateside recently following European launches, it鈥檚 not beyond reason to expect Sprinter to offer the heavier Class 3 van in the coming model years. Only the latter engine is available in the 4x4 - probably a good thing, considering the maximum gross weight rating in the "smaller" 2500 model is 6,146 kg. For the 2020 model year, the Ram ProMaster gets an available factory-installed trailer hitch that gives it a maximum towing capacity of 6800 pounds.
