Mustang Values - Mach 1, Shelby GT500

Mustang Values - Mach 1, Shelby GT500

The Cobra Jet-powered Mustang Mach 1, built in 1969 and 1970, packed a serious punch to complement its upgraded interior and exterior. Sporting some of the era鈥檚 most popular features like air dams, wings, rear-window louvers and Shaker hood scoops, the Mach 1 looks the part of a tire-melting pony car, and it has performance to back it up. Collectors recognize their desirability, and today they routinely bring prices in the mid- to high-five figures. For many Ford partisans, the Mach 1鈥檚 preferred option is the 428 cid Super Cobra Jet engine. It鈥檚 a heavily tweaked version of the Blue Oval鈥檚 big block, which featured some of the best components that the company鈥檚 generous parts list had to offer. To avoid drawing unwanted attention from insurance companies - a major hassle for muscle car buyers at the end of the 鈥?0s - Ford graciously placed a modest 335hp rating on all the CJs.

Marque experts say that power plants鈥?output was more like 400 horsepower, straight from the production line. 90,000. Nine original configuration Mach 1 CJs crossed the auction block in Scottsdale, Ariz., in January, all of them at the Barrett-Jackson auction. 101,200 for a sympathetically restored 68,000-mile example with its original upholstery. 200,000 cars. These cars have comparable Ford-built engines, and A.O. Smith in Mich. assembled them, not Shelby鈥檚 facility in Venice, Cali. Shelby Mustangs, however, have three things going for them. The first advantage is a distinct appearance, something that inevitably beguiles both collectors and onlookers. Ford, which by this time was calling the shots on Shelby Mustang production, did a superlative job of face-lifting the production Mustang to create an aggressive look and stance for its Shelby-labeled cars, one that was instantly recognizable. The second strength is the Shelby American Automobile Club, which has fostered the history, mystique, recognition and documentation of Shelby Mustangs, much as Kevin Marti has done with Fords at large. Faced with a mass of informed consumers who have SAAC鈥檚 Registry books at their disposal, the restoration and documentation standards of Shelby Mustangs have been maintained at a high level. And finally, there鈥檚 the Shelby name, one of the legends in American automobiles. Attached to anything from cars to chili mix, a piece of the Carroll Shelby legacy makes a difference. The performance difference between a Mach 1 CJ Mustang and a Shelby Mustang GT500 or even a GT500KR is all but indistinguishable. But in dollars, the gap is huge, at least the value of a nice first generation K-Code Mustang - and at its greatest, two Mach 1 CJs for one Shelby Mustang GT500KR. For the owner who plans to enjoy a powerful Mustang on the road, that makes a strong case for the logic of collecting a car that wears its Ford badge proudly.

I've heard a rumor that a 2015 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Might join the Ford line-up, once again. Ford hasn't pushed out a Mach 1 in ten years. This is a mustang with a blast from the past with a modern touch of technology. This one is for the masses. I expect this car to sell, sell, sell. From the renderings I've seen, I just know this car will be turning heads everywhere. You can definitely see the history behind the vehicle. See the distinctive front-splitter? But what is more interesting is what lies underneath those hood scoops. Or a 428 cubic-inch Ram Air Cobra V8 with 335 horsepower and 450 foot pounds of torque. But the people at Ford have something else in mind for the new Pony. Supposedly its supposed to be powered by the Rumored Voo-Doo engine, which is above the Coyote 5.0L V8 currently in the GT models. The Voo-Doo comes with 2 turbochargers, (yes u heard right). If what I heard is correct, a 180-degree crankshaft is in place. In the original Mustang Mach 1 some power was held back due to the solid rear axle. I think its safe to say that the new Mach 1 is cool, but is exquisite with the Rumored Voo-Doo engine. I would love to get my hands on one of these cars, I just hope Ford makes it live up to its potential.

Reserve your 2021 Ford Mach E in Huntersville, NC, at Huntersville Ford! In the last few years, crossover vehicles have dominated the market. What exactly is a crossover? While an SUV utilizes the chassis of a truck with a 鈥渂ody on frame鈥? a crossover is based on a car's 鈥渦nibody鈥?architecture - the body and frame are a single piece. There's a new crossover in the works from Ford, and we can hardly wait. Little is known yet about the Mach E, but according to Car and Driver, this crossover is supposedly all-electric and styled after the Ford Mustang. Its Mustang design inspiration comes in the form of three-bar taillights and fastback roofline. Although it's rumored that the Mach E will be built on a dedicated EV platform, nothing is known yet about the vehicle's battery pack and its powertrain specs. Also according to Car and Driver, rumor is that the Mach E will be able to travel 300 miles on a single charge. There's still much more information to come, especially in the form of manufacturer's specifications. Either way, we're stoked for this new crossover. Come to Huntersville Ford at 13825 Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078 or give us a call. We look forward to serving our customers from Cornelius, Davidson and North Charlotte!
