This includes the front fascia, though it鈥檚 missing the typical grille, and the sculpting along the doors and fenders. Despite the stouter dimensions, the parallels are indeed present, and seem to work in the vehicle鈥檚 favor. It looks good 鈥?not like a mere overlay of Mustang cues on a random SUV. Conceptually, Ford鈥檚 research also suggested that the gearheads who value the Mustang brand may have more in common than originally thought with the tech geeks who groove on, say, Tesla鈥檚 ease of use and innovation. 鈥淭he Mustang customer is pretty unique. From a performance perspective, the car should be a fairly exciting ride, thanks to the low center of gravity typical of EVs and its own low profile. Time will tell if the stylistic and performance links between Mustang and Mach-E 鈥?and Mach-E and Silicon Valley 鈥?will actually sell electric cars. Still, the Mach-E isn鈥檛 technically a new Mustang, but rather a Mustang-inspired SUV. As such, its competition is less sports cars than current EVs. At first blush, it seems well-made for the task. Evidence gathered during the preview suggests the car has the kind of deep-tissue engineering required for a fully-realized EV. This includes a new driver interface and infotainment system adapted from the new Sync 4 that鈥檚 more intuitive and dynamic than other variants, featuring a prominent physical dial to counter the all-touchscreen interfaces found in many cars these days. The in-house-developed battery technology and the charging capabilities are also notably impressive. As the first of the Mach 1 Mustangs, the 1969 model year has to be our favourite, and represents an impressive effort put forward by Ford in the performance war of that era. 7,000 USD - find it here. With over 72,000 units produced in the 1969 year, the Mach 1 in itself is not particularly rare, but lets not forget how many of these cars have faired far worse than this particular example. With a bit of panel beating and rust repair, its original 'Candy Apple Red' paint would look great against the Mach 1 body decals, and perhaps you could throw on a set of 12 slot wheels for a period finish. Although the car needs a lot of work, some serious 鈥榗leaning up鈥?has already been done by the current seller, and they claim that the panels are all straight, and there are no structural rust issues.

The car is sold with a bundle of spare parts, which would be very helpful to any restorer, however, parts for American pony cars are readily available aftermarket, and are much cheaper than their international counterparts.
