Pininfarina Releases First Official Photo Of 1,900-HP PF0 Electric Hypercar

We’ll have to wait until the 2019 Geneva Motor Show for the full reveal.

This year’s Pebble Beach was arguably dominated by the world debut of the Bugatti Divo. But that wasn't the only hypercar with over 1,000 horsepower at the show because Pininfarina was also showing off its new electric hypercar codenamed the PF0, the first car to be developed under the company’s new EV sub-brand. Unfortunately, the car wasn’t revealed to the public. Instead, prospective customers were given private viewings of the extraordinary hypercar before it goes on sale in 2020.

After an “overwhelming response” at the private reveal, the Italian Design House has released the first official photo of the PF0 for us mere mortals that can’t afford it. As you’d expect from the legendary design house, the PF0 adopts a striking, elegant design that should make it stand out from the competition. Shown from the rear, the photo gives us a look at the PF0’s floating wings with integrated LED taillights and aerodynamic flaps.

“For a new car company, this US launch program was hugely challenging, exciting and ultimately rewarding,” said Michael Perschke, Automobili Pininfarina CEO. “Our guests in Pebble Beach were classic and performance car aficionados and judged that the PF0 design delivered the right balance of beauty and functional performance visuals. They came to see classic Pininfarina and weren't disappointed.”

"Most importantly, we have some great feedback from clients who have owned numerous Pininfarina-styled supercars. We know we are on the right track and we will now return to Europe to deliver on our aim of producing the world's most beautiful, innovative and rare hypercar."

While the final design hasn’t been publicly revealed, we already know the PF0’s mind-blowing specifications. Pininfarina claims the electric powertrain will enable to PF0 to rocket from 0-62 mph in less than two seconds, reach a top speed of over 250 mph and deliver a range of over 300 miles. Only 150 examples will be up built when the PF0 goes on sale in 2020. Pininfarina confirmed the final name and design of the PF0 will be shown in March 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show.
