How Much Will The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Cost?
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan carries all the design elements that make its hatchback counterpart successful in the European market鈥攁ll except the rear trunk. The car also remains true to the promises its concept form introduced, and it is equipped with an advanced interior tech, thanks to the integration of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) interface. To top it all off, it is hyped as having the lowest drag in all production vehicles worldwide. The numbers will make the A-Class Sedan the entry-level Mercedes in the US market. It would replace the CLA Coupe in that position. 33,100. The more expensive cost of the CLA than the A-Class Sedan is justified since the four-door coupe sits above the new compact sedan in the hierarchy of Mercedes luxury cars. Upon its debut, the A-Class Sedan is only offered in A220 trim. Beneath the car鈥檚 hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. The unit produces 188 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, which may not be much by today鈥檚 standards, but it is still a pretty decent output. The power of the car is distributed via a 7-speed automatic to either a front-wheel-drive system or an all-wheel-drive system. The top speed of the auto is electronically-limited at 130 mph. Mercedes hadn鈥檛 released the official 0-60 mph acceleration time of the A-Class Sedan yet. Given its very low drag and powertrain though, the FWD version might cover that in 6.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the estimate for the AWD is at 6.6 seconds.
I wish there were a person standing in one of the photos - as I am having a really hard time getting the 鈥榮cale鈥?of this. In the first BaT photo, in particular, it looks like it could be 10 feet tall! This thing could carry a VW Samba as a spare. It鈥檇 fit in perfectly in Marin County: a mix of dirty hippy and conspicuous money. What鈥檚 next, a Porsche that looks like a VW bug? BTW: I saw this on E-bay months ago. While somebody restored it in Australia, it is not as good a restoration as one would hope. Original Asking price was double of what it is now. Although unique, it has not found a buyer yet. Engine parts are fairly easy to come buy, as the engines were the same as the sedans (190/190D) with some modifications. Body parts are becoming sparse as well as brake and suspension. The bus is about 8 and 1/2 feet tall and only allows about 5鈥?鈥?standing room inside.
These were built from 1955 through 1967 and by definition the VW might be the daddy, but it looks like 鈥淪onny鈥?has outgrown 鈥楧addy鈥?and then some鈥? Entspannen Sie sich, alles klar? Mein Alter ist ein Fernseh-Mechaniker, er hat diese ultimative Satz von Werkzeugen. Ich kann es reparieren. I had no idea there were any Gangsta rappers in Australia, let alone that they like old Mercedes busses. Cool bus with a cool name, but I can鈥檛 think of a practical application. What practical application would half the cars featured here have anyway. I think you鈥檙e in the wrong place for 鈥減ractical鈥? 鈥檚 by far N O T what this site is all about , I think. RHD, for we in the 鈥渃ivilized鈥?world of LHD, is a bit of a bummer - mainly when you pull it into the local Sonic Drive-In or something. That said, this is the coolest鈥m鈥hurch bus I鈥檝e ever seen. De-gaudy the interior trim and it would be a really fun mini-motorhome for race weekends and such. Pricey, too, but would you ever see another one?
What is your recollection of the driving experience? The 48 Horsepower (albiet DIN Ponies) has always spooked me away. I would guess a 190D would gather enough momintum to do 50 mph foot to he floor (which is OK for allday). But a 190 gas with a couple of passengers - - -scary slow? You鈥檙e talking to a man with a shed full of seemingly impractical cars and bikes, but all are fit for a singular purpose; no matter how niche. We only really one truly parctical car amongst them. Maybe I chose my words badly. This seems to have no singular purpose . It鈥檚 not fit for camping, there鈥檚 no real seats for comfortable long distance touring. And it鈥檚 not a real driver鈥檚 vehicle. From the pics it seems to have been built here in Oz purely for the show circuit. I like it, but I guess I simply don鈥檛 鈥榞et it鈥? I guess I understand you now. I didn鈥檛 remember the interior shot since I looked at it several months ago. I guess the limited use reflects the inability to sell it for what was actually sunk into it. But I have seen it before.
