26 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG For Sale
For the first 40 or so years that the performance division of MB was in existence, it focused on improved performance. They first offered the Mercedes C63 AMG for sale that same year and was recognized for its incredible performance and easy drivability. Through modifications, body size reductions, and performance-enhancing additions, they鈥檝e taken existing models and pushed them to the next level. But, in 2008, the started from the ground up. C-Class. Although the engine is a detuned version of the V8 appearing in other models, it still made some history-making marks. Featuring a powerful 6.2-liter V8, the 4-door became the world鈥檚 fastest sedan upon its debut, instantly ensuring its position as a lauded classic for the marque. Specialty variants were produced shortly thereafter, and in 2011 the MB Black Series was introduced. Based on the Coupe, the Black Series cranked power outputs up from 451 hp and 443 lb-ft to 510 hp and 457 lb-ft. Its engine borrowed many features from the SLS, all of which contributed to its orchestral sounds and 3.9 second 0-60 mph time. In recognition of the 2014 end of a production run for the four-door version, the 507 Edition was released.
Landing just below the output of the Black Series, the power was increased to 507 hp while the top speed was extended to 176 mph. Production of the C 63 has continued, and consumer demand for this powerful V8 does not seem to be showing any signs of slowing. The C-Class is defined as a compact executive car. Some might qualify it as 鈥榚ntry-level,鈥?but there is nothing entry-level about this vehicle. Let鈥檚 put aside the fact that it鈥檚 an AMG for a moment. The C-Class is an overachiever at the most basic level. Its shape was honed in the wind tunnel, its engine perfected at the racetrack. It鈥檚 a Mercedes; of course, it鈥檚 darn near perfect. Add the magic of AMG, and you鈥檝e got a veritable piece of genius German engineering in your hands.
A rival of the legendary BMW M3 and the Audi RS5, C63 has a Twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that produces 487 horsepower and 443 foot-pounds of torque. In efforts to finally put the C63 AMG vs. BMW M3 debate to bed, Mercedes upped the ante in the drivability department by intently focusing on handling dynamics, rather than brute power. The result is completely redesigned steering, brakes, suspension and electronic stability control, making the new C63 hard to argue against. When it comes to delivering a true competitor to the BMW M3, the C63 AMG has done just that. It was fun while it lasted. The 510-horsepower, limited-edition, Black Series C-Class was a one-year special. Actually, to be more specific, it was more like a 90- car special in the United States, and we are sure it sold out quickly. All the more reason for Mercedes-Benz to inject its performance addicts with one more dose.
You know, something to wean them off the track and back on the street. For that, we have the Edition 507. It even looks like the Black Series thanks to its two hood outlets. It borrows the pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft from the SLS to increase the output of the 6.2-liter engine to nearly Black Series values. It also carries new lighter compound brakes to bring that extra power to a stop. In terms of straight-line performance, it鈥檚 neck and neck with the Black Series, with a zero to 60 time of 4.1 seconds. But from there, it鈥檚 all C63. Inside you find luxury and comfort, without depriving you of a sport feel. To create such a happy median Mercedes gives the driver a 3-spoke performance steering wheel with AMG shift paddles. Nappa leather on the newly redesigned bucket seats, perforated leather on the dash and aluminum trim ensure you never forget that you are driving some of the best in luxury.
For comfort on both the street and on the track, you鈥檙e equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP). This system has been adjusted specifically for the aggressive performance of Edition 507 and given the first ever 3-stage ESP sport function. It may not be a Black Series, but it certainly compares without compromise. Mercedes recognizes when they have created a masterpiece, which is why the all new C63 has received only a handful of upgrades. Although these upgrades are subtle to the untrained eye, they are noteworthy and unique to the 2019 model. To start, the latest C63 displays a Panamericana grille in place of the former horizontal bar. Also noted on the exterior of the vehicle are redesigned LED headlights and an altered rear diffuser though the taillights retain their former shape. Prominent characteristics like the side skirts and alloy wheels remain in place, as does the overall shape and style of the exterior body. A similar approach was taken regarding the interior of the C63 with most aspects like the Nappa leather upholstery remaining untouched. Buyers will have new options, however, when it comes to the trim featured and will be treated to a spectacular 10.25-inch touch-screen media display.
