Mercedes Benz Flex B Maintenance
Service B, also know as Flex B, or Schedule B, is a service interval in the Mercedes Flexible Service System. You'll need to perform Service B when you service indicator system alerts you that it is necessary, typically at 20,000 miles and every 20,000 mile interval after that. Service B alternates with Service A, as well as a few other service interval options. Reset your vehicle's FSS counter. In all SLK, CLK, C-Class, and E-Class models, as well as in S-Class and SL-Class models without the active charcoal filter, you'll also need to replace the dust filter. Flex schedules vary depending on the class and model year of your Mercedes. Service A and Service B will be the Flex task lists that you will use most often. This weekend, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes will use two new Lucozade formulations developed specifically by GlaxoSmithKline鈥檚 scientists. Lucozade Hydration Formulation contains a precise and scientifically determined mix of essential hydration salts, carbohydrates and proteins to support the optimal performance of the whole team. Lucozade Race Formulation aids performance in high temperatures and extreme G-forces, while also addressing the specific needs of speedy absorption, weight management and driver alertness. 鈥淗ydration in the cockpit is extremely important,鈥?says Jenson Button, 鈥渁nd I know that only too well from a past experience during the Malaysian Grand Prix when my fluid bottle broke. That meant I couldn鈥檛 take on any liquids during one of the hottest and most physically difficult race on the calendar. By the end of the race, I was in pretty bad shape - which just goes to show that, without proper hydration, your performance and your abilities behind the wheel are severely compromised. 鈥淚鈥檓 really pleased that the team has worked closely with Lucozade鈥檚 scientists, and it鈥檚 great that Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has its own unique formulations - both in and out of the cockpit.
A body weight loss of just two per cent will have a detrimental effect on performance. So, since the capacity of the in-car drinks bottle is limited to one litre, every drop has to count. The new Lucozade formulations have carefully balanced levels of sodium and carbohydrate, enabling them to be rapidly absorbed across the gut wall. With the driver strapped in tightly, it鈥檚 essential for the drink to do its work quickly. 鈥淭he speeds and the harness can make having any fluid in your stomach really uncomfortable,鈥?says Jenson. Sodium also helps to replace lost salts while the carbohydrates are rapidly assimilated to provide energy. The Lucozade Race Formulation, which the drivers prefer in blackcurrant flavour (it鈥檚 also available in cherry - the drivers鈥?choice for Hydration Formulation - tropical and orange), also contains caffeine to aid concentration. The collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline is ongoing, and feedback from the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes trackside team will help to further optimise the new Lucozade formulations as the season progresses. In a sport where attention traditionally focuses on technical performance, this is an exciting new development in the similarly essential field of human high performance. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to remember that, during a grand prix, the whole team acts as one,鈥?says Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh. 鈥淎nd this will be a significant benefit to the hydration, fitness and focus of the engineers and mechanics who are all under considerable physical and mental pressure during the race. At a race like the Malaysian Grand Prix, that will be crucial - it鈥檚 one of the toughest events on the calendar, and a race where good hydration, coupled with driver fitness, can have a significant impact on the result. I鈥檓 extremely pleased at the first results of this collaboration, and I鈥檓 excited by the potential that lies ahead as we continue to develop the formulations.
Four-door baby stays faithful in appearance to preceding concept car and is expected to become a crucial model for Mercedes-Benz in Thailand. Ah, the Baby Benz is back! You could say so, especially when you consider the entry-level status of Mercedes-Benz鈥檚 all-new A-Class Sedan. Although it isn鈥檛 exactly the same as that small 190E of the 1990s, this new four-four A-Class could become a big-seller for Mercedes-Benz in Thailand given that the country still likes such a body silhouette. Previewed as concept car in China last year, the new A-class Sedan is making its world premiere at this week鈥檚 Beijing motor show in production-ready form and has stayed faithful in appearance to that the show car. Note the face of the car which comes in line with its hatchback sibling and the latest CLS. Although the A-Class Sedan is being shown with a long wheelbase body measuring 2,789mm, Mercedes freely admits that other global markets will get a 60mm shorter version. There are many China-only models with long wheelbase bodies from other brands which is why the bigger C-Class is also being shown in stretched form at the Chinese motor show. Are there any electrified engines available? At the moment, Mercedes has announced only two petrol engines for the Chinese market which may not necessarily appear in other countries when the A-Class Sedan goes on sale globally in the second half of this year. The four-cylinder all-aluminium units include 1.3-litre producing either 136hp or 163hp and 2.0-litre generating 190hp. Like in all other models of the brand鈥檚 range of compact cars, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission feature.
