Australian F1 Grand Prix 2019

Australian F1 Grand Prix 2019

The 2012 Formula One season got underway today with MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS drivers, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, taking part in the first two practice sessions in Melbourne ahead of Sunday鈥檚 Australian Grand Prix. 鈥淭oday was a nice start into a hopefully exciting season, and certainly two promising sessions for us. However, I would not go so far as to speak about being confident, as the weather conditions were too mixed to gain a clear picture. We know what Friday sessions are for and don鈥檛 know what fuel loads others were running. 鈥淚鈥檓 pleased with the start to our weekend today in these mixed conditions. We learned a lot for the race here in Melbourne over the two sessions, so it was a very productive day. I feel very comfortable in the car which is the most important thing for me today. So all went well and we had no surprises, however to find out where we really are compared to the others was impossible in these conditions. 鈥淚t鈥檚 obviously been a patchy day with the weather conditions, however we have achieved a reasonable amount of work on varying fuel levels. Whilst the overall picture is still not clear, Michael and Nico seem quite happy with the cars at the end of today鈥檚 two practice sessions. Tomorrow should see a dry morning, and we will start to get a better perspective. Everything ran smoothly today which is a tribute to the team, and everyone at our factories in Brackley and Brixworth has done a very good job to prepare for this first race. 鈥淎 decent start for us on this first Friday of the new Formula One season. Michael felt well in our new car, as did Nico. Both drivers concentrated on race simulations with different programmes, and both were on the medium tyres as the team took the decision to save a set of options for the better track conditions tomorrow. Our team worked perfectly today which gave us a good start into the new season.

But if your feature suggests popular queries that contain the user鈥檚 text anywhere in the query, the opposite approach is better 鈥?you want to highlight the user鈥檚 query. Scoped search should only be used on some websites, and even then, only if it can be implemented well. If your site scopes content, you鈥檒l want to reflect that in the site鈥檚 search suggestions. Just like the other two parts, you鈥檒l need to visually distinguish the scope from the rest of the suggestion. The text of these scoped suggestions was presented in a lighter gray color, and indented beneath the suggested query. This approach worked well because all three levels were linked. Beyond just completing a user鈥檚 query, the search suggestions dropdown can include links to other types of related content. Consider if this type of complex search-suggestion dropdown would be helpful for your users, or confusing overkill. If you do adopt this approach, your suggestion dropdown should be well organized and labeled. Users should be able to easily scan and understand all of the information presented. In particular, providing links to related products in the dropdown can be a good shortcut for those who know what they were looking for. However, we found that it was rare for participants in our study to select a specific item from the rich suggestions. Instead, most users preferred to see the full list of results, so they could browse and compare. If you decide to use rich search suggestions, use an adaptive approach to simplify the feature for mobile devices. On smaller devices, just offer simple text search suggestions. Prioritize scannability and ease of processing in your search suggestions. Remember that their primary purpose is to make it as easy as possible for your users to express their information need and to see helpful results.

This steering torque, which causes the driver to steer correctly through a light impulse, is hardly perceptible, and most of the time it is not even noticed at all. Nevertheless the assistance function is effective. However the steering assistance system merely provides an indication of the direction in which the driver should steer in order to stabilise the vehicle; it does not overrule the driver. The new SL has adopted the proven braking system with a dual-circuit brake and the split of the two braking circuits between the front and rear axle from the predecessor model. At the front all the variants are equipped with newly developed 4-piston fixed-calibre brakes with an aluminium monobloc design and perforated brake discs. 1-piston combined floating brake callipers are fitted at the rear. In order to be able to provide the required output from the braking system, the heat arising at the brakes must be removed as quickly as possible.

This is why special attention was given to aerodynamically favourable and highly effective brake cooling. On the basis of different wind tunnel and road tests, the aerodynamics engineers developed a system comprising several components for targeted air ducting in the front axle area. A brake air channel has been integrated into the front engine compartment trim in order to guide the air over the front wheel spoiler in a targeted manner and steer it onto a guide blade. The guide blade fixed to the front suspension link diverts the air coming from the brake air channel over the brake discs to the exterior. Together with a front matched wheel spoiler, this has achieved effective cooling of the brakes. The newly developed brake cover plates consist of steel at the front axle and aluminium at the rear axle. As a new feature in the SL, the electrically operated parking brake helps in the design of a generous interior. Its switch is located in the dashboard, under the rotary light switch.
