Typical for Audi, the TT is also available with a diesel engine option. Available only in Europe, the 2.0 TDI Quattro is available in both coupe and roadster forms. With a six-speed manual transmission, the coupe will go from zero to 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds with a top speed of around 140 mph. The roadster has slightly slower numbers due to being less aerodynamic without the fixed roof.
Why should anyone consider the diesel option? Because it can get 44 mpg. This is a startling good number when considering the amount of power the car has. As Audi continues to make more advances in the turbo diesel engine field, expect even greater performance and fuel mileage numbers. Has anyone ever seen a diesel in a Mazda MX-5 or even a Porsche Boxster? Didn't think so.
