Hitler, Pope, JFK And Princess Diana Have In Common

Hitler, Pope, JFK And Princess Diana Have In Common

Many of the worlds rich and famous past and present have had chauffeur driven cars at one stage or another on the face of it there is nothing unusual or extraordinary about a chauffeur driven car. However there are people in history who through tragedy or political turmoil made their chauffeur cars forever part of history as we know it. On the 31st of August 1997 Princess Diana died from an accident in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris. She was with Dodi Fayed the son of Mohammed Al-Fayed owner of the Ritz in Paris and Fulham football club at the time of her death and was being chauffeur driven in a Mercedes S280. According to some sources there is a lot of mystery and conspiracy surrounding Princess Diana's tragic death, but what is known is that it was late at night and her car was being chased by paparazzi. Princess Di's chauffeur Henri Paul lost control of the Mercedes-Benz and crashed into the thirteenth pillar of the tunnel at an estimated speed of 70mph. Unfortunately the only survivor of the crash was Dodi Fayed's bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22nd 1963 in Dallas, Texas. At the time of his death he was being chauffeur driven in a 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible. JFK the 35th president of the United States was reportedly shot 4 times by what is believed to be multiple gunmen. William Greer a secret service agent was chauffeuring JFK at the time and after the shooting he sped off and took the President to Parkland Memorial Hospital. One of Adolf Hitler's primary chauffeur's was Erich Kempka who drove Hitler from 1932 - 1945. Hitler owned a number of cars but one of his most famous chauffeur cars was the Swabian Collossus. He used this vehicle for Nazi parades when trying to rally support. Hitler's car was bullet and grenade proof and cost 40,000 pounds at the time which is equivalent to about 1.5 million pounds today. The car was later sold in 2007 for around 1 million pounds. Kempka was in the vicinity at the time of Hitler's and Eva Brauns suicide and helped to burn the bodies after they died. The original Pope mobile was designed to allow the Pope to be easily seen when on public appearances. Following the assassination attempt of John Paul II the specially designed chauffeur cars were made bullet proof to protect the Pope from any potential attacks. Since the original which was made for Pope John Paul II there have been several variations all for different purposes in mind. During the Papal visit made by the Pope in 1987 in America a pair of Mercedes 230 Gs were flown to Washington DC to be further modified by the Secret Service. The Popemobile or variations of it are one of the most recognisable and unique chauffeur driven cars in the world today.

The Mercedes engine is so well-engineered and reliable that this is often neglected during servicing. There is a finite life to these components and the tensioners used, so have it checked for peace of mind. What model was the Mercedes used on Road House movie staring Patrick Swayse? What type of refrigerant does a 1991 Mercedes Benz 300SL use? The '91 used R-12. You need to buy the converters from Mercedes because the universal connectors are usually too small. The Mercedes converters are cheap. You can gety them from any Mercedes dealership. Make sure you vac out the system before you add R-134. Another good idea is to change the dryer and expansion valve before recharging the system. Who makes the 3.8 liter engine for the Jeep Wrangler? I do believe that is a Mercedes Benz made engine. This same engine was used in the dodge Durango at one time. What are the names of buses? As far as the names of buses go there are many and they are al used by many different companies. If you want to now the names of some buses that you actually may of heard of here they are; Optare Solo with a Mercedes Benz engine. What is a Mercedes Benz 500 horsepower rating? Mercedes 5.0 liter 500 engine is used in several vehicles and the horsepower is tuned differently for each models application.

I know what you mean when you say that each time it gets better; there are some foods that do follow this rule. Love the bit of pumpkin seasoning added too. This soup sounds both nutritious and very tasty, Donna, especially with all the spices that it contains! Thanks for the recipe. This is a great time of year to make hot soup. I am not a vegetarian either. Well maybe part time, but I don't think that counts. Thanks for the read, how2read. I'm not a vegetarian but the pictures sure make me hungry. You got this carrot lover's ear (and appetite). Thanks for the read,Bill. No worries, my hubby wouldn't eat it either. Donna, the best I can promise is that I will pass this one to Bev. I'm eating this. LOL Hey, you got a view from my being here, so that's a good thing, right? Thanks, Carol. The beans are sort of neutral, so they add texture and protein. It turned out to be a good combo. Let me know your thoughts if you do try it. Never thought to put these together..Beans and carrots. It does sound good..think I will try it. Thanks for the recipe and voting up and bookmark.

It鈥檚 not the only geeky feature I found unexpectedly rewarding. 1,150 Multimedia package - floats turn-by-turn directions over a real-time view of the road ahead, and proved surprisingly helpful when trying to figure my way through unfamiliar routes. Sadly it can鈥檛 actually project those AR directions onto the windshield, but it鈥檚 not hard to imagine a future version that might. If it wasn鈥檛 already clear, I was far more impressed than I expected to be by the 2019 A-Class. My suspicion had been that it would be a fairly calculated car, effectively a way to lure new owners to the brand but then quickly propel them up the ladder to more expensive models. Instead, I find myself asking whether it could actually steal a few entry-level C-Class sales. If you want the Mercedes badge, and the styling, and the luxury tech interior, but don鈥檛 actually need all the rear space of the larger sedan, there鈥檚 a lot to recommend this smaller, nimble car. Sure enough you can send its price spiraling up if you go heavy-handed on the options, but demonstrate a little restraint and you can still get a decently-equipped sedan at a fraction of the price of Mercedes鈥?larger cars. That鈥檒l teach me to be so cynical.
