2019 Mercedes-Benz CL600 For Sale
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been the most advanced and prestigious of all the competing luxury sedans. With extraordinary power and technology, these were upper crust cars. When Mercedes introduced the 2-door CL series, they became even more exclusive. Throw in a positively ludicrous V12 engine and you have the upper crust of upper crust. Smooth, silky, and full of bragging rights, the V12 was the ultimate engine choice for the most luxurious ride. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 2002 Mercedes-Benz CL600 for your consideration. Finished in a sharp shade of white over tan, this is a classic color combination. The exterior of this vehicle is in great shape with excellent paint and trim as well as tinted windows and custom SLR Turbine style wheels. An AMG badge is present and the left headlight is clouded over a bit. The wheels and tires are in great shape and have Hankook tires with good tread. The 5.8L V12 is extremely powerful and makes around 367hp and 400lb-ft of torque.
The car has an electronic limiter at 155mph and can hit 60mph in 5.8 seconds. The engine even features cylinder deactivation when cruising and gets better fuel economy than the smaller engined CL500. The real treat with this car is the interior. Supremely comfortable perforated power leather seats that are both heated and cooled. The can move to any position imaginable and the steering color also tilts and telescopes to find the most comfortable driving position. These cars are some of the most advanced and comfortable ever made and it is often said that the technology seen in the upper level Mercedes cars will trickle down to normal cars 10-15 years later. This car has been well cared for a tons of money has been put into servicing this marvel. This car is designed to travel at high speed cross country in extreme comfort. Why buy a Toyota Corolla when you can buy a top end Mercedes V12 coupe. Gr Auto Gallery, LLC and our sister company, Wheelz Sales and Leasing Inc. makes every effort to represent each vehicle accurately and with integrity. But physics can't be entirely ignored, and the CL did not turn in with quite the surgical precision its disciplined ride motions led us to expect. We found ourselves running a little off-line at corner entry on occasion, and it probably had nothing to do with deficient steering communication. Steering feel and the driver's sense of involvement are actually quite good for a car this big and isolated. In summary, we'd have to conclude that the CL600's blend of virtues far outweighs the few shortcomings and that its astonishing performance overkill will probably awe and delight the lucky few who can afford this Benz bolide. Whether anyone really needs this much mass and muscle in a mere coupe is a question we'll leave for you to answer. Super-lux cars like the Bentley Continental and CL600 are at the vanguard of the silly upward spiral of weight and power propagated by a fuel-squandering industry. There's a lot of tech here, and nothing else I have driven wafts forward with such relaxed ease as the CL. The pillarless coupe was just a glamorous artifact of a bygone era until Benz resurrected it so elegantly. But don't call me enthralled until the CL has its date with the fat vac. Everything about this car is effortless. It accelerates as forcefully at 60 mph as it does at 30, with hand-of-god turbo thrust that is unnatural yet regal. Response from the boosted V-12 is appropriately creamy, and there's as much precision in its HVAC ports as in the engines of lesser cars. It's the perfect perch from which to frown upon the proles in their lowly C-class sedans, which seem like Camrys from the massaging-air-bladder throne of the imperial CL.
It's simply too large, too soft and too luxurious. We still wonder why being able to keep the key in your pocket makes this a better solution. Then drop it into gear with a column-mounted electronic shift lever similar to the kind BMW is now using. 1000 in this case.If there's one word that describes the CL road experience, it's silken. On smooth surfaces it feels as if it's riding on glass. Some vibration or road harshness must be penetrating the hushed cabin, but it just doesn't feel like it. The sportier BMW 6 Series coupes register bumps harder and reveal surface imperfections far more acutely. In the Benz, the smaller road irregularities get glossed over. The Mercedes-Benz CL coupe is a melding of sensuous design and cosseting luxury that few other vehicles in the world can match. The CL offers svelte driving dynamics and a near endless list of luxury and safety equipment.
