CD PLAY PAUSES ON ENGINE START UP



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:



Range Rover (LM) VIN: AA302697 - Onwards



Model Year: 2010 - Onwards



CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



The CD may "pause" on engine start-up. This may be caused by a software error within the High Level Display Front (HLDF).



Action:



In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to update the Front entertainment control module



software.

No parts necessary.

DDW requires the use of casual part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.



REPAIR PROCEDURE



UPDATE THE FRONT ENTERTAINMENT CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE



CAUTION:



Ensure all ignition "ON"/ignition "OFF" request are carried out; failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle.



CAUTION:



A Land Rover-Approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during IDS diagnosis/module programming.



NOTE:



Ensure the Navigation Update Tool is available.



Refer to the Navigation Update Tool User Guide (InfoTrail > Bulletins/Publications > Technical Library) for set-up and usage details.



1. Connect the Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle battery.



2. Turn ignition "ON" (engine not running).



NOTE:



IDS must be loaded with IDS-DVD124 -V6.03 or later and Calibration File 61 or later.



3. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) session.



4. Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing SDD to read VIN and identify the vehicle.



5. From the Session Type selection screen, choose "Diagnosis".



6. Select the "Selected Symptoms" tab and then select:



^ Electrical > Information and entertainment system > Entertainment system > Audio > CD or DVD intermittent.



7. Select "continue".



8. Select the "Recommendations" tab.



NOTE:



Ensure the Navigation Update Tool is available.



9. From the Recommendations tab, select "Run" to configure the "Front entertainment control module".



^ Follow all on-screen instructions to complete set up of the Navigation Update Tool and configuration the Front entertainment control module.

10. Open glove compartment.



11. Remove fuse box cover to access cable. (Figure 1)



12. Connect the cable to the Navigation Update Tool.



13. Turn ignition "ON".



14. Select and "hold" the center of the Home Menu position of the HLDF for 10 seconds. (Figure 2)

15. Select and "hold" the left-side of the Home Menu position of the HLDF until the "Diag PIN Entry" screen appears. (Figure 3)



16. From the Diag PIN Entry screen, select "7", "5", "3", and "OK" (Figure 4)



17. Select "Next". (Figure 5)



18. Select "Loading". (Figure 6)



19. Select "OK" (Figure 7)



^ Allow the download to complete.



^ The infotainment system will resume normal operation once the download has completed



20. Turn ignition "OFF" for a minimum to two (2) minutes.



21. When all tasks are complete, exit the current session by selecting the "Close Session" option.



22. Disconnect the IDS and the Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.



23. Remove the Navigation Update Tool.



24. Install fuse box cover to access cable (Figure 4)



25. Close glove compartment.



26. Exit the current session.



27. Disconnect the IDS and the Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.
