RALEIGH, N.C., May 15, 2019 - Triangle Rowing Club continued to make a name for itself in the Southeast and the nation with historic performances at the USRowing Southeast Youth Championships in Oak Ridge, TN this past weekend. The team persevered through torrential downpours, fog and mud and was proud to earn a 4th place spot in the points totals, and came home with 9 medals, both records for the team. For every event entered, TRC had a boat advance to the finals, including proudly sending both Men's and Women's Pairs (2- boats) on to Nationals in June, at Sarasota's Nathan Benderson Park! Brooke Benestad of Cary High School and Sophia Von Dauber Apex Friendship High School will compete at Nationals in the Women’s 2-Pair, and Stephen McGuinness of Holly Springs High School and Cameron Ganin of Apex Friendship High School will compete at Nationals in the Men’s 2-Pair. With an excellent finish to the 2019 Spring Season, there are high hopes for our Men’s and Women’s 2-Pairs competing at the national level!
