Howling noises from the area of the drivetrain.

Note:

Verify that the noise source is actually the shift rod prior to parts replacement.

Cause:

Stress in area of shift rod/intermediate lever, leading to increased transmission of drivetrain acoustics into the interior.

Remedy:

Installation of new shift rod A204 267 01 32 and new floor shifter A204 267 66 24.
