ABT Sportsline is known for taking its tuned Volkswagen Group vehicles to the next level. The Audi TT RS-R is no different. Limited to just 100 examples (50 coupes, 50 roadsters), the TT RS-R is definitely an even more hardcore version of the already potent TT RS. How so? For starters, the turbocharged 2.5-lier five-cylinder engine has been given an additional 100 hp for a grand total of 500 ponies. Torque has also been increased to 420 lb-ft.
Compared to, say, the stock R8 V10 Spyder Plus, the TT RS-R Roadster makes the sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds – just a tenth of a second slower than the much more expensive R8. An official top speed figure wasn’t announced, but the stock TT RS maxes out at 174 mph.
In addition to the engine modifications, ABT Sportsline has also given the car an aggressive body kit consisting of tons of carbon fiber elements, such as the front spoiler, side skirts, and rear diffuser. There’s also a set of 20-inch alloy wheels and stainless steel exhaust system with quad tailpipes. No word from the German tuner on the package’s pricing, or whether or not buyers can order specific parts. But as how these things typically go, buyers will need to shell out the $65,000 or so for the stock Audi TT RS first, then hand it over to ABT Sportsline.
