with M112 or 113 Engines Alternator Mounting Bolts
Alternator mounting bolts for both M112 and M113 engines have two different lengths. Earlier engines have 95 mm long bolts and later engines
have 105 mm long bolts. The reason is that both the later version water pump and the engine front cover have been modified by inserting a steel
bushing in the alternator mounting hole, which made the upper and lower alternator mounting holes thicker by 10 mm.
NOTE:
Both replacement water pump and engine front cover are only available in modified version (with steel bushing in mounting hole).
For M112 engines with engine serial no. 033140 or lower and for M113 engines with engine serial no. 000200 or lower, the proper use of the short
and long alternator mounting bolts is as follows:
1. Replacing Engine Front Cover Only: Use only short bolt in the upper alternator bracket and use only long bolt in the bottom alternator bracket.
Otherwise, the front engine cover alternator brackets will be damaged and not covered by warranty.
2. Replacing Engine Water Pump Only: Use only long bolt in the upper and lower alternator brackets. Otherwise the front engine cover
alternator brackets will be damaged and not covered by warranty.
3. Replacing both Engine Front Cover and Water Pump Simultaneously: Use only long bolt in the upper and lower alternator brackets.
