Side Window(s) Open After One-Touch Closing
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the side windows opening slightly after closing with the one-touch feature, check for a
mechanical problem by following the below steps. In most cases, the reason for this is that the window mechanism detects a mechanical resistance
and opens approximately 5 cm as designed. To correct, the source mechanical resistance needs to be removed.
1. Check window guide - The dimension between the front and rear window guides (window frame) must be identical at the top and bottom and
the door window must have a constant 1 mm of play (clearance) from top to bottom.
2. Check door window - The door window must move with smoothness from top to bottom. Make sure the door window slots easily and
completely into the upper (horizontal) window guide.
3. Check window guide - In the upper, front and rear corners, the window guide must be seated correctly at right angles or seated properly in the
corners.
4. Re-normalize power windows - Hold down power window switch at the first detent for longer than 1 second after the window has closed. It is
possible to de-normalize the power window using the HHT and then re-normalize it as described above.
If none of these measures is successful, the radius of the door window should also be checked.
Note:
The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair.
