Left Head Restraint Guide Binding
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a head restraint binding when raising or lowering, the lock slide mechanism may be
damaged on the left head restraint guide. Follow the procedure below to repair.
1. Remove the binding head restraint (Figure 1, 1).
2. Remove cover (Figure 1, 2) on left head restraint guide.
Caution!
Use caution when removing plastic cover. To avoid breaking plastic cover, insert wedge (tool no. 115 589 03 59 00) under one side
(Figure 1, 2-arrow) and pry upward.
3. Remove lock slide (Figure 1, 3).
4. Dissemble replacement head restraint guide.
5. Replace damaged parts on vehicle head restraint with parts from replacement guide.
Note:
DO NOT replace entire head restraint guide. Replace only parts which are damaged.
6. Reassemble left head restraint guide in reverse order.
7. Reinstall head restraint and verify proper function.
