Complaint:
Thumping noise from area of front axle when driving on uneven roads
Cause:
Play in the torsion bushing of the air suspension strut on the front axle causes noise when driving on uneven roads
The noise only occurs in vehicles in the VIN range 164 ### #A 584636 to 164 ### #A 682631.
Remedy:
Replace air suspension strut.
Determine part number as per EPC.
Temporarily the part number was listed as ES1 39 for differentiation purposes - ES1 has now been deleted again.
