Remove and installation




attention:

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake coming into contact with skin and eyes.




Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eyes protection when handling brake fluid.




Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects. Please wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Notes on repairs to brake system




Brake fluid notes.







1 open engine hood and raise to vertical position




2 Remove cover over left suspension strut tower




3 clean the area around the cap of the brake fluid reservoir




4 Unscrew cap of brake fluid reservoir and extract some brake fluid, in order to prevent the brake fluid reservoir from overflowing when pressing, back the brake pistons.




5 Remove front wheel-and-tire assemblies




6 Disconnect right front brake pad wear sensor(s10-/2) at feed line on the right brake caliper(2)




7 Unclip feel line (1) of the right front brake pad wear sensor(s10-/2) front bracket(3)




8 Detach brake hose(4) on bracket(3)




9 Detach spring plate(5)




10 Remove protective caps(6) and remove




11 Guide pin




12 Remove brake pads (7) out of brake caliper (2)




13 Check condition of the brake pads and inspect for signs of wear




14 Check condition of brake disks and inspect for signs of wear




15 Pull right front brake lining wear sensor (S10/2) out of pads backing plate and check .

NOTE on installing brake wear indicator contact sensors.




16 Check guides pins and their boots, check guide pins for sluggishness and damage.Check boots for damage and loose seating. Replace damaged parts with new parts.




17 Check brake caliper (2) if the brake caliper is leaky or the dust boot is damaged.




18 Press back brake piston using resetting device if the brake piston is difficult to move.




19 Check folds of the dust boots of the brake piston if the dust boot projects beyond the brake piston , position the dust boot correctly.




20 Clean contact surfaces of the brake pads (7) on brake caliper and brake caliper support (8)

using rags. Installation do not damage dust boots and guide pin boots. Do not use sharp edged or pointy tools. Otherwise , the brake caliper or the brake caliper supports can be damaged.




21 Apply brake paste only use brake paste listed in the linked description and only apply this at the points specified . Otherwise , complaints may be made about the noise or damage can occur on the brake system!




22 Install in the reverse order

Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before staring engine, actuate brake pedal several times until the pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.




24 Check fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir, correct if necessary.




25 Carry out brake test on the test stand
