How to install front brake pad on Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500



Brake Pad: Removal and Replacement

Remove/Check/Install Front Axle Brake Pads

!   Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or topping off of the lifting platform.
align vehicle between colurnns of vehicle lift an position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

! Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.  Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

1 Unscrew lid from brake fluid reservoir.

2 Remove front wheels

3 Disconnect connector for left front brake pad contact sensor, or right front brake pads contact sensor. During removal / installation of the brake pad contact sensor always use straight or angled needle nose pliers, to avoid damage to the contact sensor or connector.

4 Remove cover , installation : Replace cap and coat inside with assembly grease from the parts kit in order to quarantee absolute leaktightness, otherwise the sliding caliper can corrode solid in the guide due to the ingress of moisture and resultant corrosion.

5  Remove bolt (3)

6  Remove brake pads , fold brake caliper upwards and secure to protect it from falling down. Do not use bushing seat as hocking-in point. Installation: Do not apply brake pads paste or assembly grease to brake pads. Always replace pad contact sensor and mount to outer brake pad. When snapping shut the brake caliper do not damage the protective boot of the pilot bushing. 

7  Clean brake parts and check for wear and damage. Replace anti-rattle springs.
     Brake lining wear limit, Brake disk.

8  Push back piston, if the brake fluid level in the reservoir is too high, suction off a little brake fluid.

9 Install in the reverse order

10 Build up brake pressure . to do so, actuate brake pedal several times.

11  Check fluid level in reservoir, correct if necessary hydraulic brake system-check fluid level correct if necessary.

12  Check brake system for leaks.
